And would arrive in the next few weeks (though I don't want to over-index on a few weeks, but would be nice to have earlier). My Marin Fairfax has flat bars and for that reason alone I'd never take out for more than 20 miles, it'd be monotonous and numbing. Other gravel pluses: Lots of bolts for cages and racks, built to take some hits. P. s. The nuroad race has the better colorway I'm thinking and it's a tossup on whether you want to piece together your kit (can be time consuming). If this is an office job, I'd be tempted to go Race, get front panniers, and consider whether that + some frame/bar/seat bags might handle everything you'd need.

I have a $500 Marin Fairfax 1 Fitness bike and it’s tremendous. Mechanical brakes, shimano parts, and all the jazz. I didn’t think $500 was a crazy price for great exercise and a potential hobby to pick up.

The Marin Fairfax ST should work for you. Also, if you live close to an REI, their in house brand makes the CTY 1.1 with a step through frame

First I will say this is my first bike since I as a teenager and rode around on a prebuilt bike from target back then. I just finally got my MTB (Marin rift zone 1). Took forever to find one in stock and get it. Fast forward I finally get it in.
