Musical for stereo/Dynamic for movies
After several weeks with the SR6015, I’m satisfied that I’ve learned why audiophiles at Audiogon Forum insist on using 2-channel systems for music, and more often than not, for movies also. Those guys may be snobbish, but they are, sometimes, the last word in audio advice. Many have both a system fo...
Excellent build quality and superior sound. Firmware needs some work
The good: - Excellent build quality. This thing is a monster. NOTE: Heavy and tall. Make sure it fits and the shelf can support it. - Once the speakers are properly set up, superior sound - exactly as you would expect for a mid-level AVR - So many inputs, support for HDMI 8K and/or dual 4K outputs, ...
My trusted Yamaha from 1997 finally died. Remained all-analog for as long as I could. Was not looking forward to the modern-day nonsense with crappy solid state amps. Tried a couple of options in the $700 range (yamaha/denon) and was left disappointed. Returned them both. Never had a Marantz product...
Upgraded from an old Marantz 6005 that didn't have 4K or 8K pass through. I'm very happy with this unit, it sounds great, the web/browser interface to configure it is much better than the older 6005. You can access the receiver's configuration page via wi-fi or wired connection. The speaker configur...
Receiver and Atmos Speaker recs for 5.1 KEF LS50 & projector setup. (bonus puppers)
Actually happier with them than when I was using the Q800ds and Q100s. I’m new to Atmos and don’t have the desire to install in-ceiling speakers. I just got a pair of the Prime Elevation for the front and want a second pair now for the rear. Some of what I’m experiencing sound-wise is due to the SR6015 being a much better AVR than the NR1605 I was using.
Excellent Product of the Highest Quality
This Marantz 8K AV receiver met or exceeded all of my Home Theater needs. Excellent sound & video that complements my LG Smart OLED HDR TV, TIVO, BD Player, Dune, streaming requirements and Klipsch Dolby Atmos speakers. This unit may be a little pricy, but for those who demand quality, you get what ...
Needs more types of inputs
Replaced my older Marantz AV Amp. This unit has less speaker options, only one set of front channels, and no 7.1 option. My older unit did not have HDMI inputs, which is why I Replaced it, also less power. ( 150 versus 110 ) . If all your equipment is new this is a good unit, but if you have Older c...
So far, so good!
This is a replacement for my 13 yr old Pioneer Elite receiver to facilitate an upgrade to a 4K Sony Oled TV which I have yet to receive. The Sound, especially on DVD Audio and SACD, is much more open and spacious, thanks largely to the Audyssey setup procedure. I'm noticing things I hadn't before. T...
