Every flashlight I buy for my job breaks in under 6 months- what durable flashlight options would you recommend?

Let's be honest : we all have too many flashlights and most of them don't see much use and we only own them because they're fun. \*cough\* Thor \*cough\*

If you had to pick just ONE flashlight until the end of days - which would it be and why?

My pick likely would be the Lumintop LM10 Titanium sandblasted. It's small enough to be an EDC, but packs enough punch for lighthing up 200 yards in front of you. It has got good flood for daily use and it's just a beautifully engineered conversation piece.

Hello, I am reposting my previous flashlight request, with slight changes in hope of getting some more answers.

I am looking for a flashlight I could use on duty in the military, so it would need to be rugged and operable by one hand via tail switch.

Since I am an absolute flashlight novice and don't have a single idea what to *really* look out for I am currently eyeing the Olight Warrior X3 in Desert Camo. For the looks mostly, since I love the pattern, like the beveled edges and that it comes with a finger ring. I've heard however that Olight is overpriced for the quality, which itself is said to be decent for handheld and non weapon mounted lights. I could get said light either for around 170€ new from Olight or maybe for 130€ on eBay in its said to be original packaging for maybe 120€. For 140$ I could maybe get it in May, when a friend of mine visits the USA, he could get it for me and bring it back to Germany.

Price Range: I guess I'd rather spend under150€ but if the light matches all my criteria then I'd spend more.

Battery Type &amp; Quantity: The most practical for my case would be either AA or AAA batteries since I already carry them around with me for other gear. But since they seem to be too low power for good flashlights I really don't care, rechargeable would be good.

Size: The light would need to be handheld and operable by only one hand.

Main Use: The primary purpose ofthis light would just to look into dark spaces and to search for things at night, so a dimmable light would be best. If I could get color filters or a silicone diffuser in red for it, I'd maybe check maps with a low lumen setting too. The secondary use would be for pistol shooting, since I can't have weapon mounted lights, tertiary would be self defense/CQC why I would like a strike bevel, other than for looks.

Switch Type: A switch on the tailcap, ideally for all functions, if the brightness is regulated by twisting the head that's fine too. Just on/off needs to be on the tail cap.

Anything Else?: The light should be water resistant so that it isn't damaged by strong rain and being dropped into puddles. I want to fit a Thyrm Switch Back, or similar product, on the light for shooting and general ease of use one handed.

Here’s a challenge for y’all: What’s the best single-mode flashlight? (just switches on and off)

I want a simple, click-on- click-off well-built flashlight.  NO bells and whistles.  No complicated directions.  A flashlight kind of like "as if I'm five".  My thoughts drift to an Elzetta.  Would you have any other recommendations?  Lumens don't matter.  Price (within $200.) doesn't matter.  I'd like a light I could pass on from generation to generation. 
The last light I had like all of this was a Streamlight Stinger.

Simple point and click sturdy flashlight

I just got hired by a police department and I need a high intensity flashlight with a tail cap button and a sheath or holster to wear on my duty belt. Besides looking at the Streamlight ProTac I have no real idea where to start. I would prefer a holster that I just can pull it out the top of without undoing a top cover.
  
Price: $150 max, including the holster and charger/batteries.

Battery: No idea, probably would prefer rechargeable so I don't have to buy new ones as often.

Main Use: Law enforcement, going to be working outdoors and on the water rather than in urban areas.

Switch: MUST to be the tail cap button.  

If you can point me towards whatever brands are reliable and has the kind of holster I'm required to have or just validate that the streamlight is a good option that would be awesome.
