Longines Conquest V.H.P. Review - The Truth About Watches
It’s a thick, heavy thing, but the high quality rubber strap and solid push-button deployant clasp are a joy to have and to hold. Overall * * * * *. The Conquest V
[Longines] Conquest VHP, one of the most accurate wristwatches made.
This is probably familiar to some, but for the ones who haven’t seen one before this is my new Longines Conquest V.H.P., model L3.716.4. It comes in at 41mm wide, sapphire crystal and beautiful case finishing. Under the hood this watch uses Longines L288.2 movement which is accurate to +/- 5 seconds a year, which makes this watch 5 times more accurate that the Swiss COSC requirement for quartz movements of +/- 0.07 spd variation. One way the accuracy is guaranteed is with a system called GPD.

[Longines Conquest 39mm] My GADA watch
I’ve always liked simple minimal models like the Seiko Alpinist (or the Rolex Explorer if you allow me) I went for this Longines Conquest 39mm, blue dial, steel case and bracelet, sapphire glass. Moreover it features a silicum balance spring and 300m water resistance. This model’s caliber is an updated version of the L888 (ETA based movement) with 74 hours of power reserve. I'm very happy so far.

[Longines Conquest] After working in the fast-food industry for 2 years I quit to study civil engineering. Bought this beauty to celebrate!
I decided on this Longines Conquest making it my first mechanical watch. I really like the subtle and modern look of it and I think the design is timeless. It reminds me of the Rolex Explorer which to me is a beautiful watch. I also like the Longines brand, although some of their quartz watches might be questionable, they certainly have many years of watchmaking experience.
[Legacy] sub $1000 legacy watch
The Longines spirit has a timeless field watch look. The brand also has been around for a while and has some nice heritage. Other than that, I’d recommend the Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80, or the Christopher Ward C63, or the Longines Conquest. These will all be in your budget.

[Recommendation] Watch that goes with anything?
I just bought a Longines VHP Conquest in the past few months and loved every second of it so far. Mine is blue but they make them in other colors including black, so it is even more versatile.
[Discussion]What was your most disappointing watch purpose and why?
Longines Conquest with the silver dial: Legibility was rather poor. And: I recently reduced my 10+ collection to just three watches: black Sinn 556i with a black leather strap, blue Longines HydroConquest and a Casio G-Shock 5610.
[Help] Finding a ~$500 everyday watch
Longines Conquest - the 39mm size is close. I’m quartz, I believe it’s right around $500. If automatic, you’ll have to look at used. Takes a lot of the Explorer design cues but manages to individualize them.
[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread
Longines Conquest 39mm - Explorer vibes, durable, versatile. Seiko SARB033 - I know, I already have the 035... but I really like the watch, so I know what I’m getting in to.

New to watches, I know what I like but just too out of budget (i.e skydweller, omega seamaster, longines conquest). I really was looking for a respectable automatic that I could appreciate for under 400 dollars. I’m not a huge fan of seiko in the price range because I feel the bracelet feel extremely cheap. I looked into Hamilton and orient but just don’t know enough/have never seen them in person to purchase.
