Even though I don't really do any gaming, once you've gotten accustomed to a high refresh rate, it's really hard to go back to a 60hz display. Keyboard that doesn't totally suck. I prefer something with a bit of travel in it - I used to have an old Lenovo T530 that had a great clicky keyboard.

An extremely under-powered machine, but with an SSD upgrade and another 4GB stick of ram, it's a good, cheap work/school laptop. It's pretty heavy and pretty bulky also. I ordered this one for my wife. I've had another T530 for years now and was comfortable getting one for her. It arrived not configured as I ordered it (with an UltraBay hard drive adapter instead of the DVD/CD multiburner). The seller (GoGet Computers) eventually provided a working burner.

Any PC's comparable to Macbook quality? (asking based on school requirements)

The Lenovo ThinkPad lineup meets or exceeds Apple's build quality. better warranty options as well. I'd start looking there if a Mac is out of the question.
