Lamy Safari

So there you have it: the Lamia Safari Fountain pen. In my opinion, a pen well worth owning. It's relatively inexpensive

I think that this is a good pen and it will be a good pen for a long time.

I cant explain to you all how awesome and nostalgic this feels to me. Ohh and yeah compared to my medium nib lamy safaris this pen is quite close in terms of smoothness except for slightly more feedback which is understandable since the nib is a fine and im comparing it to mediums so i guess the 8th grader me sure did a good job with the nib.

HOWEVER, I purchased two so far but planned others until today when I found I could not return it. I could not believe what my experiments recovered I don't know how to remedy it. I never understood why the cartridge for it seemed to drain so fast. . It only fills a 1/4 of the way full. I have anoth...

I'm currently in the search for a fountain pen to upgrade from my Packer Vector. I had considered Lamy Safari and TWISBI Eco first and I recieved amazing response regarding the same. Now I wanted to look into Indian Brands as these are handmade and I heard the craftsmanship is amazing as well ( can't beat the machine but still it's handmade and it gives an extremely personal feeling to it.).

I generally like this pen. Have a few Pilot fountain pen's in similar or lower price range(Metropolitan, 78G, Kakuno) Their nibs seem a little smoother but I actually prefer the grip of the safari. Feels more substantial. My problem with this pen is the Safari's cap. Mine no longer snaps on the pen ...

Probably not unpopular but the triangle grip section on the lamy safari utterly ruins the pen.

Also if inks aren't waterproof I'm not interested.

I dislike cigar-shaped pens. Most brands have them and most of the times they look like copies of each other. The design of the Lamy Safari/Al Star is ugly.

I've owned numerous Lamy Safaris over the last thirty years and have a nuanced respect for the brand. Lamy makes my all-time favorite fountain pen, the Lamy 2000.
