Jinhao 992

By every rational standard that's better- it means quicker transitions, faster slaloms and generally more faithful response to the driver's inputs. I am track rat, I love all the improvements when it comes to my 2RS and this 992 gen will be even better.

TH with such top notch production quality. Love it. As someone who cross shopped a r8, 991.2 turbo S and ended up getting a 570s, I can say after having done it that I'd be taking the 992. The daily liveability is actually really important, as is reliability (when you have a supercar you want it to work all the time...) I've also really come around to the 992 styling.

For a sub $10 pen it does what you want. The nib it fine and you even get some shading when using good ink on quality paper. The pen is smaller than I expected. Jinhao 992 is a sailor knock off, and a really good one at that. It was my go to pen for the longest time. Genuinely amazing for the price, and you get, at least when I bought mine, a pack of 5 ink cartridges AND a converter for using bottles ink in the future (Cheap bottled ink like Parker Quink is the most economical way to fill a fountain pen).

I had particularly disliked the look of the nibs, preferring the more traditionally shaped nibs, but the Lamys quickly grew on me. Now my 992 is struggling to earn a place or use in my daily carry. I mostly just take notes at work in blue ink, rarely using black for more official documents, and even more rarely using a non blue or black ink for highlighting pertinent points in my notes. I think the black Al-Star would be cool to have with the u/quitearoughcustomer ink, and the red Safari will become my daily, most used blue ink writer, which leaves the 992 as my black ink pen.

Although I'm not a fountain pen aficionado, I do have three other pens at relatively the same price range that I like much better than this one.
