Jinhao 992 vs TWSBI ECO Black

* Conklin - Another one which suffers from quality control issues, if a beginner bought one of these i wouldn't be surprised if they never went back to fountain pens. Both of mine have had issues.

Now writing with this pen is where I have my problems. I compared it to the Lamy Safari and Metropolitan Pilot which are both cheaper than the TWSBI ECO and both write several orders of magnitude smoother than the TWSBI ECO. This pen is incredibly scratchy and this was directly comparing to the other 2 pens with 2 different inks. Carbon Ink Black and Waterman Serenity Blue

Genuinely amazing for the price, and you get, at least when I bought mine, a pack of 5 ink cartridges AND a converter for using bottles ink in the future (Cheap bottled ink like Parker Quink is the most economical way to fill a fountain pen). On AliExpress a Jinhao 992 is a couple of pounds including shipping, but shipping is slow to be fair.

Personally, I like the TWSBI eco for its large ink capacity and comfort. It has a good weight to it and there are beautiful colors! :)

This pen is heavy, it is almost the same as X750 but it has a tripod section. The ink flow is pretty good. I can't tell anything about the original nib because I bought with a fude nib instead. It should be the same price of the x750

I really really enjoy writing with this pen. I got a Pilot Metropolitan last year so when I initially picked this one up, I was a little put off by how light it felt in comparison. but after a few weeks of using it I'm super happy with the weight difference - this one really glides across the page (in a Clairefontaine notebook) and it's really nice to be able to switch between a lighter pen and a weightier one. it is also of course very cool & useful to see how much ink is left in the pen

Wing Sung 601: $15 vac filler, hooded nib, nail of a fine nib. Good sort of re-pop of the classic Parker 51. Holds ink for days. Good build

UPDATE March 2019: After over a year of using this pen, I'm my review from 4 to 5 stars. Ink flow is very smooth, and even the slight feedback this extra-fine nib had while writing/sketching is pretty much smoothed out as well. This plastic body is built like a tank; threw it around in all my bags along with keys and phones and everything and there's not a single scratch on it. The massive ink reservoir is also really, really handy for travel and on the go, as I hardly ever have to refill, and the clear body makes it incredibly easy to see when the ink is getting low
