Hoka Torrent 2

So those are my thoughts on the Hoka Torrent 2 After 100 miles, I've just been having a blast.

\--. Overall I'd give the shoe a 5/10 and will not be getting another pair for my rotation.

For really gnarly terrain, especially when wet, I swear by Salomon speedcross series. For not so gnarly terrain where you want a little more space/comfort I’ve really enjoyed the hoka torrent series.

This year, I purchased some Hoka Torrent 2's for road running in the winter, and they feel like absolute bricks in the cold. I've also noticed a fair bit of creasing in the midsole and I've just put 150km on them.

**Hoka Torrent 2 (121 miles)**. The trail shoe of twice for when the trails are calling.

I own 4 shoes; Hoka Arahi 4, Hoka Arahi 5, Hoka Torrent 2 and… Saucony endorphin speed 1. Endorphin speed are absolutely amazing and make running fast an absolute breeze.

I switch between Hoka Torrent 2 and Saucony Peregrine. The Sauconys are heavier but hug my feet better and have a huge tod box that doesn’t hurt my toes. I use the Hokas for shorter, faster trail runs.

But If it‘s not technical … it‘s a very quick, direct shoe for fast not too technical trails or door to trail shoe. The brooks DNA cushioning is really cool, rebounding and it feels like there is kind like an active energy under your forefoot that‘s really cool if you push this button. But it‘s a complete different Feeling to the comfy Hokas. But - the Hoka Torrent and even more the Hoka Zinal are created fo shorter, quicker trailruns.

Hoka Torrent 2 for daily miles on less technical terrain. Hoka Speedgoat 5- a love hate relationship, mostly in that I want to love them but just can't. They feel like they should be really good for just about anything you throw at them, but the softness of the midsole leaves my knees barking after about 7 miles, the tongue slips under the lace loop and causes it to dig in, and they don't quite bite the trail like the Peregrines or Xodus. Other than that they're really good.

Torrent 2, (only used these on trails and they’re fine. Low profile for Hokas though the speedgoats offer more cushion). The only shoes I’ve had from Hoka that didn’t fit were the Rocket Carbon - far too narrow all the way through despite being a size 9. They also do a wide fit in a few models if you’re really broad footed but I would say they are fine in regular.
