Preamp -6.4 for HE6 and -9.5 for LCD-X. I suspect (based on testing 80ish headphones) that the HE6se v2 for $600 is the best deal to be had in headphones when it comes to sound. The HD6XX for $199 and below has been that in my opinion until now, but these have serious quality to offer at a price range that has nothing nearly comparable to offer.

I'd really like to try these some day and compare them to my HE6se on my Onkyo M504 setup. I have no doubt that they sound amazing.

Let these cans break in for a couple of days before evaluating, mine lacked any base and the treble was a sharp, but after a couple of days playing in the corner I put them on and they sounded smoother the frequency response was filled out.

This is a wonderful headphone and it is very hard to do better within this budget, if not impossible, if the objective is to acquire a HiFi headphone.
