[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread

There are some special occasions in life when you want everything to be perfect. Or maybe you just wear suit a lot. In many situations it is unpolite to check your phone for time. That's where the dress watch comes in handy. Also it is nice addition to your outfit, but it shouldn't be the center of attention. Instead it should be slim, simple and small.   
I am in need of such a watch in under 500€ price range. However I struggle to find one.   
My expectations are: Size 40mm and under  
Thickness 10mm and under  
No lume  
No Date window (I wouldn't mind if the date is represented in other way)  
Blue dial  
It seems like my only options are Timex Marlin 34mm and Vostok Classica. The problem is that Timex could be possibly too small for my wrist and blue version isn't available for purchase. Vostok is really close to perfection but its completely sold out on Meranom.  Do I have other options ? Or should I just go with quartz ? Also you can comment what features/specifications do you find important in a dress watch.

[Question] Affordable dress watch

Hi all, I recently got engaged and my fiancee has offered to get me an 'engagement watch' to celebrate. I've been slow to take her up on the offer, but I do like watches, so I thought I'd consult this wise subreddit for ideas. 

My favourite style is a dive watch, and if I were to receive a gift from my fiancee I'd want it to be one I would struggle to break. I've been wearing an Orient Ray II for the last couple of years and am a big fan. My budget would be c. £500-£750 (making sure it's less than I paid for the ring, on point of principle!) I've got fairly slim wrists, so wouldn't want to go larger than the Ray II (41.5mm across, 47mm lug-to-lug). This sadly rules out the Certina DS PH200m, which I really like. Now I've a slightly bigger budget I'm sure there are watches I didn't consider last time when my focus was on Orient, Vostok, Invicta, Seiko. 

Any advice gratefully received!

[QUESTION] Engagement watch suggestions

Hamilton Intra-matic or Hamilton Jazzmaster with a silver/white dial. I think those watches have just enough flashiness for a man in early 30's (like myself). Look for them on Jomashop or Ashford website for the best price.

This will be his first real “grown-man”watch. I will love to start off his collection right. My price range is 0-$450 ish.
