 This is a workhorse of a knife, it has come sharp, friction lock, sheath. I think I forgot to mention that was going over the sheet, but it's a friction lock like I said because it's meant to be hung. Um, hanged, tip up. We found a piece of wood stay stay there find a piece of wood

Ok not a good fit for my needs

 It'S pretty much. No questions asked. If you break the blade you break the sheath. You break any part of you know what comes with the knife, you return it and they will either repair it or they will replace it and send it back

 Of course, i've got a whole bunch of 550 cord, that's been cobra knotted and in here let's see if you can see that right here you can see the little silver thing i have. An emergency sewing kit that has a three-ply waxed linen thread. A large sail needle so that way i can do large repairs on any piece of equipment. I have, and this little piece of velcro just helps hold things into place and also gives me something to bundle any of the cordage up

 The the the feel of the grip is fantastic, the design of the blade, the angle of the blade is almost a drop point blade, and it really reminds me a lot of a small uh french reproduction uh trade knife that i used when i was in reenacting And i used it as basically a patch knife and uh for my muzzle loaders but um yeah. This is an absolutely fantastic little knife and it gets very, very high, scores it's as far as what it is, what it was designed uh to be through my seven plus years of using it. It definitely gets a 10 out of 10. and i'm looking forward to using this for many many many many more years

And the reason I had to take away a star, the heat treat is actually inferior to my $10-$20 mora knives. Those things hold an edge to rival the best razor blades and do so for a damn long time. This knife will open a few boxes, cut the jacket in on a few wires, cut a few pull strings on CAT6 and need to go back to the strop.

..! So what do I think of the izula.? It'S very well made and light, but it's a little small for my main outdoor, fixed blade

 It features a drop point flat ground blade like found on a lot of esees, and this one is made from powder coated 1095 Carbon steel.. The powder coat has been applied to keep it from rusting and to blend into desert surroundings. So you have to buy another one when you lose it

 For an outdoor knife. I, like a 3-4 inch blade size as a good general purpose. Knife. The Esee 3 seems like it would be a good starting size for me

  The things I don't like aren't deal killers on this knife. The coating on the blade doesn't allow for use as a striker for flint or a ferro rod. I might strip it and patina the blade instead, but I have other striker options so that can wait. My bigger complaint is with the sheath

It's a bit rough and bulky, and you need to attach the belt clip yourself. Not a big deal for me as I got this primarily to act as a secondary knife that will attach to the sheath of my Schrade SCHF9, but if you were hoping to open the box, attach this to your belt, and go, you'll have to do a little assembly first

Great knife, sheath is just OK.

If you are using in wet environments, I'd opt for a G10 handle, or any other material than micarta with cloth embedded. It soaks up moisture, and if used for gutting deer or processing game I think this knife would get disgusting quick. Nothing you couldn't take care of by disassembling and cleaning thoroughly, but who wants to do that all the time?

 I will continue to carry a folding knife in the pocket, and keep this one tucked in the belt at 4 o'clock.

Solid Knife

  It's a little bigger than the CRKT minimalist, and that's what I needed. Keeps a better edge as well.  Update 4/14/19:  SHARP out of the box. Sturdy too - I was able to baton firewood into kindling with it

I will say that the blade came to a beautiful mirror finish after about an hour of work and has maintained an edge every well. The side is incredibly convenient and the ergonomics are exceptional.
