 Sheath is a thin feeling thing and the retention is almost a joke. Just two small tabs near at the bottom to grip the knife handle. Isn’t very strong retention wise. Will probably end up as a pocket knife rather than a neck knife

I have fat slightly large hands and the handle shape isn’t exactly comfortable for me

 Point is tanto configuration and the handle is well constructed I just wish it was 1" longer. Concealment wise, this is where it shine. It doesn't print and is lightweight enough to not be too noticeable for extended EDC. Sheath fits fine and cord comes with a cord nice safety adjustment clasp

Neck Knife

 The edges easily cleaned up, and it is a nice solid little "stabber". I got them on sale for under $10 each and am happy to have them at that price.

Needs a little tlc on arrival.

 I thought it was small. Thick blade very nice knife. I have huge hands so the handle is in need of a wrap. I took care of that and it's a nice small backup blade

Rugged, not refined

 I found a brand new one still in the original clamshell packaging at an online store that had it on clearance for 13.50 so I bought it.  Wow, the difference was amazing. First of all, the new one came out of the box very sharp with no imperfections to the edge unlike the first one that was barely sharp and has a slight nick in the center of the cutting edge

 this knife is either made from an inferior blade steel or it was not heat treated and tempered properly. I have used and own many Kershaw knives that use less expensive Chinese manufactured steel and they have all performed better than expectations would allow. this knife is the exception and I would return it for a refund if it were not for the fact that I made several attepts to sharpen it in order to save my investment. If I ever encounter a Kershaw that doesn't cut perfect out of the box in the future I will immediately return it because every Kershaw I have bought before has never had this issue

 I think for about $20 bucks its worth checking out and learn from my lesson, if you get a bad one return or exchange it. I thought I could fix mine but after a couple days of trying every honing trick in the book I had to face facts that the steel just not right with that one and now I had voided the warranty. Also the knife is so thin and has so few flats on it. even the best Knife sharpening tools have no solid way to clamp or grab onto it to work properly

 then I tried cutting with it.  The edge had an angle that was more blunt than I am used to perhaps 30 degrees or so. In addition the edge was not very clean or consistent often hanging up on the materials I test cut. Upon closer inspection I found that there were a few blunted edges in the blade right out of the box

Most of them are a great quality for very little cost

 Again, this knife should really be used as backup and not be considered replacement for a good, dependable primary weapon in a self defense situation

This tanto is a nice little backup knife but I'm a little disappointed in Kershaw as I own a Kershaw Lucha and multitool that are excellent quality, but then this one is marked "made in China" this on the other hand is much cheaper made with a less quality steel. The blade locks into the sheath well but there is some slight rattle and I dont know how that will be over time. The blade is unimpressibly sharp but has a good point and will need some work on my knife jig to get a good edge, otherwise the knife fits me well for neck carry and deploys quite well and quickly. Also, be mindful that there is no hilt guard and proper grip must be used for a stab

It's not the best, but certainly not the worst

Very cool little knife with an extreme point

 While the blade is 9/16" wide, except the tip and base, the primary bevel isn't parallel to the blades spine or cutting edge and neither is the black coating. Because of this it makes the blade look wider the farther you get from the tang. Once measured you can see that this is just an optical illusion but had it actually been wider towards the tip I would have returned it.
