Need help. New to this and want to do a budget build. I have a wide open room in my basement. 70” tv temporarily but want to go projector and 120”+ screen but I figured I’d work on audio first. Would this be a decent first starter bundle? If so, any recs for AVR or other general suggestions? TIA

For the AV receiver, Denon S760H for $450 at Costco. While you have the ceiling exposed, you might as well do the wiring for 4 Atmos channels, and stuff the whole thing with mineral wool for good low frequency sound isolation.

Solid Sound

Discretion. I need to find a 5.1 solution that appeals to a woman who is only just getting over the shock of a big screen in the living room. Needs to be small, minimal in visual impact but offers good quality sound. Currently have two echo studios paired with an echo sub.

Denon S760H ($450 at Costco). Once she hears the sound quality improvement over your current setup you can sneak in the centre channel, surrounds, and a better sub.

New model

New model has capability of managing all your components but 75 watts isn't nearly as strong as my 7 year old Pioneer.

KEF Q150 VS Q550/Q750, and Receiver

Receiver choice depends on how many channels you want. Get the $450 Denon S760H if you are doing 5.2.2 or less, get a Denon X3700H if you are doing 5.2.4 or 7.2.4. You also get better room correction as you scale up, but the primary difference is just the number of channels supported.
