Almost Perfect: A little of Heat and Win 10 Home
Excellent product and almost perfect. My personal computers are always ThinkPads but my work computers are DELL Latitude so this is the first XPS. What I do not like: -After unboxing I started doing Windows updates and DELL Upgrades (which are not very demanding tasks), the heat produced by the comp...

Ask HN: Are there any reasonable alternatives to MacBook Pro for developer?
Even with the 960m I can't even run light games on it because of frequent fps drops... And the BIOS was pretty unstable for the first year (laptop running fans at maximum while in sleep mode, while getting really hot inside my bag), with lots of coil whine. Overall, I am very disappointed in the overall build quality of it (I previously had a 2010 macbook pro and had no problems). Going to try a Lenovo for my next laptop (it seems to have less build quality issues).

Is the Dell XPS really the best laptop you can buy!? – Long term review of a Dell XPS 15 (1 year later)
This is quite a poor experience, especially considering the time that I spend on Zoom these days. # Webcam and microphones. Speaking of Zoom, let's talk about the webcam and mics on this laptop. The webcam is an absolute potato.

Decent Laptop but not as powerful as Specs would make it seem
Have used this for about a year. Mehhhhhh. Its manageable. And gets the job done for mid range editing and day to day tasks. Power management system is terrible. Sleep mode basically doesn't work. And it's terrible for gaming. Overall, not too bothered I bought it but not sure I'll get another.

Great daily driver
I bought my OLED unit from Dell directly (I got impatient), but I wanted to leave a review here to help you make your decision. TL;DR: It's a good daily driver for content creators or students with a more demanding workflow that need a very portable laptop that will last most of the day (this IS NOT...

Verdict - XPS 15 still has some software bugs
The new XPS 15 9510 with the OLED screen is once again a very good multimedia laptop, but some software/drivers issues prevent a better score and should be fixed soon. You should not expect big performance improvements from the graphics card, because Dell uses one of the slowest version of the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti. The new OLED screen offers great image quality and convinces with good color accuracy and extremely fast response times

Dell XPS 15 or Asus Zephyrus G14
The Dell XPS 15 has a lot of issues, i returned mine due a faulty screen, but there are more issues, you can check it on r/Dell r/DellXPS or r/XPS, when i returned mine, i looked for a replacement and the Rog Zephyrus G14 looked great, but i did a quick research on r/ZephyrusG14 and guess what, those machines also have issues, but not that much like the XPS.

OLED and Core i9 come with compromises
But I read plenty of stories on Reddit of others with the same issues who first had to argue, then ship their laptop to Dell..I’m seeing similar stories of quality control issues with this new XPS 15 as well, and the handful of issues I’m experiencing with my own review units makes me think they might be true — like how the fingerprint reader on one of my units, but not the other, doesn’t show up in Windows

Dell XPS 15 7590 Full Review! | The Tech Chap
I mean there's more creator laptops than ever out there now all good options that you can't really go wrong with, but I personally always find myself coming back to the XPS. It's just a great all-rounder and while the design is looking a bit long in the tooth - and he should avoid the eye 9 processor - it's still one of the best laptops you can buy right now and I do highly recommend it.

Ask HN: Have you switched from a MacBook to a Linux laptop?
Switched to Dell XPS 15 from Macbook because I can't justify the value of Macbook Pro anymore. It's a solid machine. Extendable. 4k OLED display. The downside is definitely the quality of Trackpad and Keyboard.
