FREEZING TIME AND BOWL PREPARATION
The freezer bowl must be completely frozen before you begin your recipe. Before freezing, wash and dry the bowl. The length of time needed to reach the frozen state depends on how cold your freezer is. It is recommended that you place the freezer bowl in the back of your freezer where it is the coldest. Be sure to place the freezer bowl on a flat surface in its upright position for even freezing.

Generally, freezing time is between 16 hours and 24 hours. Shake the bowl to determine whether it is completely frozen. If you do not hear the liquid within the bowl moving, the cooling liquid is therefore frozen. For the most convenient frozen desserts and drinks, leave your freezer bowl in the freezer at all times. Use the bowl immediately after removing from the freezer. It will begin to quickly defrost once it has been removed for the freezer.

Reminder: Your freezer should be set to 0°F to ensure proper freezing of all foods.

MAKING FROZEN DESSERTS OR DRINKS
 1. Use Cuisinart recipes included in the Instruction Booklet or use your own recipe, making sure it yields 1-1/2 quarts or less. 
 2. Remove the freezer bowl from the freezer and place on the center of the base. The bowl will begin to defrost quickly once it has been removed from the freezer. Use it immediately after removing from freezer.
 3. Place mixing paddle in freezer bowl. It rests in the center of the bowl, with the circle side facing up.
 4. Place lid on the base and rotate clockwise until tabs on lid lock in place on base.
 5. Press On/Off switch to ON position. Freezer bowl will begin to turn.
 6. Immediately pour ingredients through ingredient spout. NOTE: Ingredients must be added to the freezer bowl after the unit is turned on.
 7. Frozen desserts or drinks will be done in less than 20 minutes. The time will depend on the recipe and volume of the dessert you are making. When the mixture has thickened to your liking, it is done. If you desire a firmer consistency, transfer the dessert to an airtight container and store in the freezer for two or more hours.

ADDING INGREDIENTS
Ingredients such as chips and nuts should be added about 5 minutes before the recipe is complete. Once the dessert has began to thicken, add the ingredients through the ingredient spout. Nuts and other ingredients should be no larger than a chocolate chip.

Hey everyone and welcome to another review by Jim's Review Room Today we'll be looking at this ice cream maker from Cuisinart model IC E 21 and I purchased mine for $59 at the time of this review and I've also done the same review on its bigger brother, the model IC E 30 BC and that's priced at $30 more at $89 You can click on that pop up video here or find it on my youtube channel at Youtube.com slash Jim's Review Room. So without further ado, let's get started on this particular model. The IC E 21 is indeed the smaller brother, boasting a 1 and 1/2 quart freezing bowl versus the more expensive model that features a 2 quart freezing bowl

 And I'll admit once you freeze it to make it into hard ice cream, it tasted a bit better in my opinion and the consistency was a bit more creamy as it melted in your mouth right after making the ice Cream and after hardening the ice cream no ice crystals were found in a texture was perfect. and comparing to the bigger yet more expensive unit, the consistency and this machine was basically the same. So after making several batches and testing this product, it's a great machine. This machine barely had any flaws but just future wants from my personal experience

 This model only comes in white and the unit itself consists of four main components just like the 2 Quart model, with some minor differences though you have the base which houses the motor here, the freezing bowl, mixing arm, and also the locking lid as well, and that's it. And it's very simple. It's a little bit lighter, but the product still feels durable with quality plastics used. Instead of a turn dial on/off switch, the Cuisinart utilizes a toggle switch instead

 You do have to freeze the bowl for at least eight hours and I prefer doing it overnight to ensure it's rock-solid the next day. Now the freezing Bowl is what gives the mix, eventually the ice cream texture and consistency. The mixing arm and locking lid is plastic and clear acrylic respectively. Now, none of the items per the owner's manual indicated they were dishwasher safe

REVIEW: Ice Cream Maker - Cuisinart ICE-21

Don't get your hopes too high.

 At 99, this is a little bit pricey for what you're getting. You're not getting premium materials, You're not getting kind of an all metal construction. You're getting this kind of plasticky base, which, while functional, is not exactly aesthetically pleasing. That being said, if you don't really like the white plastic, trying to find the other colorways is kind of a really hard thing to do

 after this video, I'm going to be trying out a frozen yogurt recipe to see how that works and to see if I can stop going to Menchie's and Yogurt fruits in the mall.  Compared with Cuisinart's other ice cream makers, the ice 21 comes in at 99 Canadian, brand new. If you check on Amazon, you can actually find it for a little bit cheaper at 79 Canadian. That being said, with a small perusal of Facebook Marketplace, you can usually find the ice cream maker for as cheap as 30 dollars to as high as about 60 Canadian in my opinion. Go get them deals

 In all my searching on Amazon, the Cuisinart website, facebook Marketplace rarely did I find any other color except white or red. I found the occasional mint green, but who wants a mint green ice cream maker? In my testing, I found that if you don't freeze the bowl long enough, you're not going to get the right consistency in your soft serve. So it's really important that the double insulated freezer bowl gets enough time in the freezer. Just make sure that your bowl is frozen 24 to 36 hours before you decide to make ice cream so it's a pre-meditated thing

A Bit Disappointed

 There are too many obstacles to get a spatula in and scrape off the beaters. When it comes down to the last part of the ice cream inside the bowl, the freezer bowl makes it hard to get the last bits.
