Coros Pace 2

I recently bought a Coros Pace 2, and its a great device. The battery life is amazing and all the functions on the watch work fine - except for HR monitoring at the start of an exercise, but this is a known issue, i think - since almost all reviews confirm this. The only thing i miss is a walk/hike exercise. I know I can use GPS Cardio mode for this, but its more of a catch-all function for all kinds of outside sports.

I’ve been using the Coros pace 2 watch for 2 weeks now. They don’t provide much documentation. There are bits of info scattered in various places on their web site but no manual or organized documentation on the web. But it didn’t take long playing with it to work out the operation and customization...

So I just got my Coros Pace 2 a few days ago and while I love the concept behind it and love it as a running watch, the available watch faces for daily wear are almost all very garish and many are downright ugly. Over half of them can most favourably be regarded as "novelty" screens, see for example FRIDGE, RUN BOS, COPPER STATE, EARTH DAY, ENGRAVING, CODING, SHOELACE, DRAGON, ETC. Of the rest, many are extremely similar, see for example: SLASH, ABSOLUTE BLACK, ZARA, BILLBOARD, SOLAR ECLIPSE, NUMBER, SAILING, RUNWAY, HORIZON ETC. The only watch face I can actually live with is Slim1, however it doesn't show HR.

I think this is a great watch overall, with some major downsides (for me). The good: - Running Power is an awesome feature. - Swim workouts sync to the watch from Training Peaks, unlike Garmin watches. - The watch will record heart rate information during swim workouts. I had the chance to compare the Pace 2 to a Forerunner 245 from a friend. I have to say the strength training from Coros is a lot better and more usable. I created the same costum workout on both and compared the usability.

This is not a replacement for an Apple Watch or a Samsung Galaxy Watch. It's not even on the same wavelength. It has the feel of something from a cereal box. Very cheap feel. I really like the coros pace 2 but i do mainly trail running and so i would like to have a trail run and also a ski touring activity on my watch. Unfortunately only the higher coros models support such activities. I also like the bread crumb feature of the apex.

Will not pair with my Stryd unless I am in run mode. Does not measure or provide options to record power in most modes. The only mode I have found that it records power in is run mode. Without a manual I must pretend to create a new page in each activity to see what measurements are available. I exp...

I've run in both the Apple watch (series 3) and the coros pace 2. Coros is far superior in every way: buttons work better, battery life is amazing and it has more run specific features.
