The brooks catamount looks pretty cool! Not a trail runner, but that shoe uses the same foam as the hyperion tempo, which would be somewhat similar to the kinvara in concept!

Brooks Catamount I thought deserved more praise. I think the fact the original colorway was white turned a lot of people off. Myself I love a white trail shoe (paint it with dirt and mud) and I thought it was a great shoe overall.

I really like the Brooks Catamount. It’s built on a medium last (I.e., is not a “wide” shoe) but it has a supple upper that lets my foot do it’s thing without pain while also providing good retention and performance.

The new Cascadia is maybe more the Brooks Ultra-Running shoe … Brooks tells that this Catamount is made for 100 miles … to be realistic - for a pro, maybe. But If it‘s not technical … it‘s a very quick, direct shoe for fast not too technical trails or door to trail shoe. The brooks DNA cushioning is really cool, rebounding and it feels like there is kind like an active energy under your forefoot that‘s really cool if you push this button.

Another option is the Brooks Catamount. Essentially it’s a speed day/race/trainer shoe built with their bounciest foam (DNA Flash- nitrogen infused) with a trail outsole. It’s also designed to be pretty lightweight so they could be a great option!

Brooks Catamount. I switched from Lone Peaks after rolling my ankle god knows how many times in that shoe. The catamount has the most support and best response of any trailrunner I have ever owned. It’s on the pricier side, but it’s well worth it.

I also have now discontinued Helios SR and Vertical K. I also like Salomon shoes and currently have Ultra 2 and Ultra 3 shoes. Also have some Hokas for ultra distances, specifically Evo Speedgoat and Mafate Speed 3, which I have just run a 100 miler in. Also have Brooks Catamount, which is a nice hybrid road to trail shoe.
