They're better quality and fiberglass free. Brooklyn Bedding also has a [budget line](https://dreamfoambedding.com/) with some mattresses under $500. You can also [DIY a in that price range. I don't think it's actually the "vast majority" of budget mattresses have fiberglass.

And Brooklyn Bedding is definitely the manufacturer. While that's a fine mattress, its more expensive than very similar latex hybrids and it doesn't come with my favorite feature on a latex mattress -- the zipper!

He doesn't complain about the firmness, but for me, this mattress is way too soft and not supportive. His brother's bed is much firmer and doesn't give me back trouble the way this one does...

Latex less so but it is more expensive. Memory foam is cheaper but wears out faster (especially if you are bigger) latex comes in around 3 ranges of firmness and if you are allergic just isn't an option. Or budget can make it not an option. We ended finding Brooklyn Bedding that does a mix of material.

I don't feel stuck at all, and motion transfer seems to be minimal. Edge support is good. I say this a lot, I know there are a lot of equally good mattresses and definitely better ones, but $800 for a well built, comfortable mattress worked enough for me. It's so hard to recommend stuff for people, because mattresses are so subjective, but I would recommend this for the boxes it checks off.
