It's not as solid as the older model that takes the batteries in the handle. These batteries go in the head & you need to be real careful to get everything in & lined up or it won't close properly.. Plus I think something could break, like a wire if you turn it wrong.

Good bright light. It can grip/clamp on to an object, or can be used free standing. Has a powerfull beam of light, using just 2-AAA batteries. Has a "spot" type of light and does not give a wide field of light, but works very well.

This is a great light. I use it often and is a important part of my toolbox. The only thing I don't like is the switch. 1.On high 2. On low 3. Blinking on & off. Why would I ever need a blinking light?

I just got mine but in checking it out, it looks to be well made even though its mostly plastic. Light is strong. The whole deal with this light is that you can use it hands free just about anywhere!
