 So without further ado, here's the review. Starting at the top we've got a beautiful cork handle. This cork is so comfortable over long periods of time, if you think about it this is going to be in your hand for potentially 6-10 hours a day, so cork wicks away sweat, or the mic probably absorbs it, but it is far more comfortable than hanging onto foam all day. As we move down the pole, the cork gives way to a foam non-slip handle, so that's great when you need to quickly change from an angle where it's a slight incline to a really steep incline, and then rather than changing the pole flick lock, you just grab at the lower handle, so that's super super handy, and I'd be looking for that in any trekking pole that I've bought also

 What's really important is when you're using trekking poles is to remove that plastic cap unless you're going to somewhere like the Inca Trail where they actually require that you use that plastic cap so it doesn't damage the rock. In summary, these are a great all-season multi-purpose pole that you can use summer, winter, they've got to be one of the best poles on the market and I highly recommend that if you are going to do some trekking, especially in the Himalayas, that you watch my other video on how to use trekking poles, there is many benefits of using them from staying injury-free through to exerting yourself less. To wrap up, I'm going to give the Black Diamond Trail Ergo Cork five mountains out of five, I don't think they could have done better making this trekking pole. Outside of trying not to trip again, should I go carbon again? I feel like aluminum might have bent and MAYBE I could have bent them back?        Any suggestions on something strong/lighter weight (cost is not a concern for this because the walk back destroyed me)

Alpine Carbon Cork Trekking Poles

 These are the Black Diamond Alpine Carbon Cork Trekking Poles. They are sturdy and durable for reliability in alpine environments, but they have a highly attractive weight due to the carbon construction. Each of the three sections here is 100 percent carbon fiber. So for the pair they weigh in just over a pound

 These will adjust from 100 centimeters up to 130. So you have a really wide range of adjustability. And because you have overlapping sections here, they are really sturdy and durable. So even though they are carbon construction, they are going to last a long time and they are going to provide a lot of sturdiness on the trail

 When you reach a sudden uphill or maybe off camber trail, instead of having to make micro adjustments to the poles, you just have to grip the poles at a different spot. You can also palm the top of the poles, because it has got kind of a flatter, wider edge. Sometimes when I am hiking a steep downhill I will actually take my hands out of the straps and maybe get a thumb on the top or grip the top, palm the top of the pole for kind of more breaking power going downhill. Now the strap here is cushioned
