In the past, users paid a premium if they wanted compact, high-performance poles. Now, this modern technology is affordable. The grips are comfortable, the basket attachments add versatility, and the poles are durable.
The major downside to these budget poles is their weight. At 26 ounces, they are by far the heaviest pair in our review. They perform poorly in activities like long-distance hiking, where every ounce counts. We also measured only 7 inches of length adjustability, which is less than most other poles on the market. These things aside, the Trek-Z are great if you're getting into hiking and want high-performance, foldable poles at a great price.

Okay, But Do Not Open Up As Advertised

 The cork grips are smooth and such a nice touch, especially at this price. For this hike, I used the tip protectors, and they felt very secure—I have not had the chance to use the other tip styles yet with this set, but I have with others and they all do what they’re supposed to do. And it’s nice that they’re also included in the price! The only ding is that they’re slightly heavier than the big name models, but I barely noticed. As an active hiker, I give these a great rating!

 I LOVE THESE! I have far more pros than cons for them so far. They felt solid as I leaned hard into them going up rugged rocks—I’ve had squeeze clamps give way in similar situations, and I didn’t worry about these once.  The accessories included with the poles are hard plastic NOT RUBBER. This likely does not matter for the snow and mud baskets but the other 2 tips don't provide good grip. They tend to slip on hard surfaces. You may want to purchase accessory tips if you plan on using these poles on paved trails

Good sturdy poles

I bought these for a hiking trip that hasn't happened yet so I can update later. I tested them at home and really had to crank down the rotating locks to keep them adjusted where I need them so time will tell if they hold up. Collapsible is good for storage but not good if they close up while using so we will see. I'm hopeful
