Just a fantastic game all around
Just a fantastic game all around. Really wish it hit the table more often. Part Cooperative Board game, Party social deduction game, this really brings it all together all of it's elements into a cohesive form that works perfectly within the fiction of the BSG universe (which is definitely not neces...
Fan-Created Mod Reinvents the Battlestar Galactica Board Game
Such was the the case with the Battlestar Galactica, a game cut off at the knees last year when Indie Boards & Cards published The Resistance. This new game on the block played in a fraction of the time with as much if not more suspense, relegating Battlestar Galactica to the back of the game closet. Yet while I primarily play games as a test of skill, there is something to be said for an enjoyable theme
Unfathomable Review: A Wild, Chaotic Experience
Unfathomable (3-6 players) is the long awaited reprint (in the form of an Arkham Horror reskin) of Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game. Unfathomable has some well designed mechanisms, tense hidden traitor mechanics, and provides quite a lot of variety between it's different decks and asymmetric characters, meaning you'll have some wonderfully engaging games. However, there are equally as many issues which mean that for every few tense exciting sessions you have, you'll likely also have some games that leave a bad taste in your mouth.
Exceptional board game
Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game is one of the rare games that successfully marries theme (a licensed theme, no less) and gameplay. Players each choose a character from the cast of the television series. Each player, on his or her turn: 1. Draws skill cards (which double as action cards), 2. Opt...
A Look Back at the Battlestar Galactica Board Game – Turn Order
All together, the Battlestar Galactica board game is fantastic. I strongly recommend it, it’s the best and most involved mafia-style game I’ve ever encountered, and the expansions all work together to make it even better than the already great base game.
My all-time favorite
Battlestar Galactica is my go-to board game. My friends and I played this multiple times a night almost every Friday and Saturday during my senior year of college. It's got a steep learning curve, and you need to have a good 2-3 hours to commit to it, but when you get into a game, it's all worth it....
Is It Time to Abandon Battlestar Galactica (The Board Game)? –...
Several times. Due to some of the randomness, it takes more than one game to get a handle on it. Maybe you’ll get lucky and find a copy in a local gaming store at a reasonable price
If you and your friends enjoy the BSG reimagined series, get this game. It's a good game that will take about 2-3 hours (more if you sit and talk for a bit like we do). Plus, as the game progresses, you lose precious resources while someone (or some people depending on the number of players) work ag...
The Thing: The Boardgame review ⏤ A classic or an imperfect imitation?
Lastly, I’d like to talk about the components for the game. While I have played with the upgraded Kickstarter edition, I don’t think any of the upgraded components are necessary. The cardboard standees have a nice color to them compared to the gray miniatures
Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game - so awesome!
Battlestar Galactica scores high on our “let’s play again” meter, but not like other games.
