 You and 2 to 5 of your friends will play the crew of the Galactica, as well as some of the bigger players on the fleet and must do whatever you can to protect the civilian ships, keep the Galactica up and running and deal with. Whatever crises happen. To come our way, one every turn. In fact, if any one of our four big resources goes down to zero, we lose if the Cylons managed to board the Galactica and take it over

 So that's a round of Battlestar Galactica and a short one at that, and yet look at all the horrible things that have happened so far and the horrible state were in plus we've literally made no progress. Now not every round will be like this, but really it's not all that in common okay, so jumping eventually, as you play, you'll come across more and more jump symbols, each one pushing the tracker along until we get to here then one more after that pushes us To auto jump where we bring the tracker back to the start, all of the Cylon and civilian ships are cleared from the board and put back where they go. The Vipers go back to the reserves and the players in the Vipers go to the hangar deck and the fleet finally jumps away to a new destination, but which one, the Admiral, whoever that maybe draws two cards from the destination deck and picks which one to go To each one of these will have some sort of cost associated with it in the text here usually losing some fuel, as well as this symbol at the bottom, a planet with some number in it, one two three, this number represents the distance were traveling. So let's say we have these two cards, the Admiral picks

 So we add the values of all these skill cards and remember in this particular instance, purples and blues are positive, while yellows greens and reds are negative and it's a failure, which means not only do we lose one population, but the drum tracker goes back one space. All the progress we made so far was all for nothing get used to that. So now we move on to the bottom left hand corner, and we got a Raiders launch icon three Raiders launched from every may star on the board this. This is bad, oh and look, no jump; cymbal, fan-freaking-tastic, everyone, discards to ten and we're back to player one okay

 You cause structural damage, so it's easier to hurt later on and finally, my personal favorite score a critical hit which counts as having 2 damage tokens. They only need three total for them to be destroyed. These are your civilian ships. They'Ll occasionally appear on the board somewhere around the Galactica

How to play Battlestar Galactica (Board Game Tutorial)

 The instructions on the card must be followed. Sometimes the player is given a choice between a skill check and a dice roll.  Super Crisis Deck: When a cylon is revealed, he now draws from this deck instead of the normal Crisis deck. Super Crisis cards are very grave scenarios for the Colonial fleet

 You will achieve this objective through iterations of FTL jumps, passing skill checks, attacking enemy ships, and strategically moving certain characters to and from certain locations. You will meet this objective by covertly failing skill checks, attacking Colonial ships, and making the humans run out of resources

 You will rely heavily on the instruction manual at first because there are so many rules, multiple steps involved per turn, multiple card decks you have to build, and every playable character has unique skill sets and allowable actions. Here is my breakdown of this game so that people who haven't played can begin to understand the elements involved:  Human Objective: to find Earth before (a) the fleet is destroyed by the Cylons, and (b) running out of resources (food, fuel, morale, and population). You will achieve this objective through iterations of FTL jumps, passing skill checks, attacking enemy ships, and strategically moving certain characters to and from certain locations. You will lose and/or have to repair ships along along the way, and your resources will dwindle down with every hit from the cylons

 They are robots who look like human beings, we're going to try and secretly sabotage your missions and then once you figure out who they are, they have the they can then become non secret, and then they can just really try and screw up your missions of getting Back to earth, this can be a very difficult game. So when you first start the game, we're going to try and hit on the important stuff you're going to get one of these roll cards and the role cards are going to have a couple important things. First, what cards are gon na be able to draw? Because these cards are going to be what's going to help people deduce? Who is in fact the good or the bad guys in this game? Because if no one else gets say, red cards and a red card is played on a negative vote which doesn't make much sense, you right now then they'd be like okay put him in jail because there is a jail. But let's just get back to here

 You'Re, not a hardcore gamer straddle yourself onto one of these and enjoy the ride, because it is still a heck of a bond right. That'S Battlestar Galactica the board game from Fantasy Flight Games. Bower's Game Corner #249: Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game Review

5-3 hours so it’s a nice strategy game to play on a weeknight after work or to play through a few times on a weekend afternoon.  The game is Humans vs. Cylons. At the beginning of each game you get a loyalty card that tells you which side you're on

 The humans collaboratively try to preserve their limited resources and avoid being boarded by attacking Cylon ships. The cylons try everything they can to deplete the resources, either as a hidden cylon agent acting through subterfuge or as a revealed cylon operative on the offensive.  Half of the fun is trying to figure out who is a cylon and who is a human. I love to play as a hidden Cylon agent - trying to undermine the humans' progress without giving myself away

  This is a pretty in-depth game and usually takes a couple of turns around the board in order to get into the rhythm but once you do you can go pretty quickly. My friends and I usually manage to play through a game in 1.5-3 hours so it’s a nice strategy game to play on a weeknight after work or to play through a few times on a weekend afternoon. Always a Different Outcome!

 For me hidden role games at their purest are awful but I tend to like them when there is another layer of gameplay added. To that end I really dislike basic Werewolf and The Resistance but don't mind Bang! and now really like Battlestar Galactica.  First of all, probably the best implementation of theme I've ever seen for a board game, and all done without sacrificing gameplay. I love the show and love how the character cards and their bonuses/penalties reflect the characters from the show

 I love that you can switch sides half-way through the game, some people think this is a crappy mechanic but I think it is original and a lot of fun to all of a sudden have to start trying to sabotage these people you spent an hour trying to get home and, again, it really fits the show's theme.  Finally, the whole game is really well balanced for a game that has so much going on. And of course the one thing nobody can ever fault FFG on is their production values. The game is gorgeous and the bits are all solid

It is an intense and fun coop experience with constant tension since your resources are constantly diminishing as you get closer to your goal and gives you that feeling of treading water with shore just in sight on the horizon. Best theme in a board game.

 If you are a sensitive person, you may not like this game because it has the potential to allow players to be ruthless.  ***POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT***  One player can sabotage the others. One player can find out that they are a Cylon and still help the humans, where on the other hand, one player could be helping the Cylons all along and turn out to be 100% human. Reading this sentence, you will realize how accurate this is from watching the show

 You may want to take a break between the practice round and restarting the game.  I play games with my wife and another married couple. What usually happens with longer board games is two people will get the game set up and refresh themselves on the rules (or learn them if it is the first time playing the game). While this takes place the other two will get dinner ready

I don't consider myself a hardcore gamer with either video or board games. I do enjoy casual gaming, but what sets me apart is that I would rather set up and play a four hour game than play a twenty to thirty minute Euro-Style card game.  That said, this game WILL take at least three or four hours to play once everyone is familiar with the rules and the characters and the board. I'll reiterate the familiar part

 With a board game that requires parental oversight to be usable, it's either too guided to learn by trial-and-error, or it becomes frustrating quickly and the kids give up.  I hate that this review sounds so harsh since I truly love what this game is trying to do but I just don't see it working well because of how much parental oversight it requires. Note: I had my daughters try out web-based computer teaching games and they took to it much quicker and could solve problems they struggled with on the board game.

Good if you have the time to work with your kids on it, not so much for self-play

 But anyway getting off on a tangent those are the real cons I have not going to be for big strategy gamers or gaming groups or anything like that this is purely for kids. Moving on to the pros though Robot Turtles I saw it on Kickstarter which it absolutely tore up Kickstarter and they instantly appealed to my heart I'm a preschool teacher they said this is for ages 3 and up and I was like I'm getting a copy of this game I got it I brought it in my classroom and let me tell you this game went over like gangbusters they loved it they went crazy for this game it got to the point where I said alright I'm not bringing it in for a week because I'm sick of playing it with you guys because they wanted to play it so much. They're all aged from 3 to 5 and you can definitely see one thing I loved about this game was you can make it more or less complex based on how advanced the children are but a lot of the times I would have 3 year olds playing and I would have 5 year olds playing and I could set up the 5 year old side of the board to be more tricky and I could set up the 3 year old side of the board to be pretty clear and it really adds a nice deal of customization there so you can really play this with children anywhere from I'd say ages 3 to 6, 7 and you're kind of pushing it. They're going to have a lot of fun with this game

 Next, you are going to have stone walls and you are going to have ice walls. Now the stone walls, once you set them there, they are an obstacle. You slap and you say bug and that means that you get to redo your maneuver so let's pretend you turn this way you get to redo that so you move it back and then you can take the yellow card and move that. But any who you are going to try and get to your gem and once everyone has got to their gem you can all have a big old hug and say hooray Billy you got your turtle to your gem because turtles need gems
