Sooo I had an old FEELWORLD monitor that was actually 5 inches for the viewable screen. While the atomos is awesome in that it records raw and has some other bells and whistles I find it a bit misleading to say it's 5 inches of viewable picture because it's in reality only 4 and a half give or take....

It is lacking in video compared to its photo abilities but for my commercial needs (marketing vids for low budget local companies and churches) it is perfectly fine. I wish that it had at least 4K 60fps but the 4K 30fps suffices most of the time. The biggest downside to the video for me is the compression; even at the highest quality settings I notice a clear amount of sharpness loss when recording straight to my XQD card as well as some color details loss as well. The solution to this is to buy an external monitor such as the Atomos Ninja V and use it to record uncompressed to an SSD but as it costs half as much as the camera once you get the necessary accessories, I would say that the Z6II (or a Sony mirrorless if you can afford the lenses) would be better for video focused purposes.

Paired with an Atomos Ninja V, it can do 10bit video and looks fantastic. The internal codec is crap. The video from in camera looks good, but the motion jpeg codec or whatever its called was sort of a pain to work with. It just creates really huge files, so plan to transcode to something before you edit.
