 So I'm going to go ahead and leave it on the default side, really easy to program this, again I really like the style and design on this, especially it being a dedicated thrower, really nice compact as you can see, but the head is a little bit larger than some of the other ones I've tested. Alright so let's wait no further, let's see how this does outside in the wilderness. AstroLux FT03 SST-40 Flashlight Review! - YouTube

 Hello everyone, this is Charles Bridgetec with another flashlight review.

 Now the version I got here is the SST-40 in cool white.

 So it comes in this box, does have a little logo here on the outside of it.

 Now I want to thank Banggood.com for sending me this to review.

 Really nice packaging on this so you should be able to receive it safely and most of all

 Pretty simple on their manuals, nothing difficult to read and there is no spec sheet on this.

 It comes with two extra o-rings here and a lanyard.

 Now this is going to be more of a compact thrower but it is larger on the head area

 so that's going to be interesting to see how well this does.

 Now the button here is pretty flush pretty much with this but it does stick out there

 in the groove so you should be able to find that in the dark.

 Now again the other side is the charging port.

 I did not receive any kind of charging cord for this.

 Now this is a Type C charging port so you'll need a Type C charging cord and that'll help

 you get this battery inside charged up quicker.

 Now there's no real heat sinking on this light so we'll see how well it does with heat.

 Now machining and finish on this is excellent, not seeing any issues here.

 And the knurling here is more for cosmetic, it's not real rough.

 Style and design on this is very nice, really liking that.

 Alright so now let's take a look at the deep smooth reflector and this is running a luminous

 SST-40 LED, try to get as close as I can in there so you can see it.

 Looking really good on that, hopefully this will really be able to throw some distance

 Alright so now let's open it up and I'll show you the insides of the light.

 There's the tail spring, that's a dual spring.

 And there is a little bit of grease on the threads, not much, so I might add some more.

 And it does come with an adapter tube for an 18650.

 Now I'm going to go ahead and take the barrel off the head of the light so you can see the

 spring there, again dual springs on there as well.

 And the O-ring is greased, so that's good.

 So now let's go ahead and get this back together, now that we got that I'm going to go ahead

 and bring out the cell that I'm going to be using in this test here.

 This is an E-Fest IMR unprotected cell, 5000 milliamps.

 Really nice powerful battery on this, I've had really good luck with these, some of my

 favorite batteries are done by E-Fest, so really powerful 26650.

 This is a semi-raised top on there so you should be able to run them in twos, so that'll

 And we're going to use that, hopefully that'll give us the best performance on this light,

 So as you can see we're ready to go, you can see the power is ready to go on the light,

 so we're going to go ahead and get started.

 So now we're going to go ahead and turn on the light, and it is on, believe it or not,

 So now we're going to go up through the light outputs, and press and hold this.

 Now I've got it set on the ramping feature on this, really nice detail on that hot spot,

 I can feel the heat on that, and that's a good foot away, a lot of light coming out

 We're going to go ahead and show you the beam here, as you can see, really nice defined

 hot spot, it does have a little bit of bleeding here on the edges, but that shouldn't be too

 much of a concern, and as you can see it's a really large spill area, definitely going

 to be more of a dedicated thrower, really nice.

 And then double click on that, we'll get you the full light output on that, and that's

 turbo, man that's a lot of light coming out of there, and then of course you can press

 and hold that to go back down through the light outputs using the ramp feature on that.

 This has a built in battery check, so you're going to click the button 3 times, 1, 2, 3,

 and this will go into a battery check mode, it tells you how many volts it is, so we have

 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, now it's showing 4.3 volts, not too sure why, the battery is fully

 charged, but it was showing 4.2 on my charger, but in any case we know we've got a good full

 So now in order to get out of the battery check, because it will keep going, is you

 click that one time, now if you want to get into instant access mode to turbo, you just

 double click, we'll get you there from any light output, even one off, and then of course

 click that one time, that'll turn it back off, okay.

 So that's it on the UI there by default.
