After years of great AT&T fiber, I have to switch to Xfinity Gigabit. What modem & router should I get?

I'm no expert, but I'll share what I did and how it worked out. I have Xfinity and use the Arris SB8200 modem. If you search for "buffer bloat" and cable modems you'll see why I chose it. It can easily handle gig speeds.

I'm going to go ahead and upgrade my hardware. I'll be buying the modem and router separate. I'll be going with the ARRIS SURFboard SB8200 modem with the tp-link ax10 router. Returned Cable Modem

Returned Cable Modem As soon as my Charter / Spectrum provider switched to DOCIS 3.1 my modem would reboot several times a day. Had to go with a modem from my provider. Everything is stable now. I really like the modem and it was great until it started to reboot by itself.

Arris sbg8200 isnt a modem. Arris SB8200 has 2 1 gig ports that need to be used in aggregate to get higher than 940 mb. I'm guessing you're using one port of an 8200.
