Great product, Very good quality, easy set up
Great product, takes a little getting used to compared to typical hammocks. Very good quality, easy set up, great company to deal with on support. Tried several mats, settled on Exped Synmat UL 7 LW for best fit and support.

What does everyone think of this?
It's an Amok Draumr, they're well known here. I bought one and kept trying to like it, but it's just not as comfortable as a regular hammock for me.
Nice hammock
Nice hammock - overall pretty comfy, however the sleeve for the air pad seems a bit short and when I fit my pad in it, it causes the hammock to bend quite a bit. Especially if I zipper it completely in the sleeve. I have found that if i don't zipper it all in, then the hammock works a little better ...

What wind speed stops you hammocking?
Wind is the main thing I don't like about my Amok Draumr, it turns into a great big sail. If it is on my Tensa stand it will actually drag it across the ground.
great fun hammock but.....
i love this hammock ...easy to set up , roomy, many pockets. chair mode is great for lounging. laying flat is a boon to my back.....i have used this several times over the last 5 months since getting it. i took it on a hike to Half Dome for 5 nights and out to the desert around vegas to do some napp...

Recommendations for a new hammock
Would really recommend amok draumr 5.0. They are amazing.
Top Quilt Recommendations for Draumr? (REI Magma vs. HG vs. Nunatak)
I just bought the Amok Draumr 5.0 and was able to test it out locally at a park. Love it so far and am planning to put it too good use this fall and early winter. I paired my Draumr with Amoks Fjol winter light pad which has a R value of 5 (0 °F). My understanding with this set up plus a tip quilt is that I will not need a under quilt but please correct me if I am wrong here being that I am new.
After taking the Amok Draumr 3. 0 out on ...
The media could not be loaded. After taking the Amok Draumr 3.0 out on multiple nights I'd have to say I'm very impressed with the construction and the comfort. I'm an avid hammock camper and this by far fits into my lot of hammocks and deserving of a spot in my gear closet.

Under quilt vs sleeping pad? What's your preference? I see a lot of people on here talking about UQ but I think I prefer pads due to added resistance to shoulder squish. Any body else using a pad?
When I was using my cheap hammock I was using a Bessport pad with a 6.9 R value and I liked it. Slept in the 20s with no problems. I upgraded to an Amok Draumr now, where the pad is integral to the setup.
My tried and true hammock
I met the makers of these hammocks back in 2014.. bought a Draumr that day. I’m an avid hammock camper and have never looked at using another hammock since the Draumr. It always brings some stares as most people assume all hammocks point you in the direction of towards trees. Thishsmmock allows for ...
