0 out on multiple nights I'd have to say I'm very impressed with the construction and the comfort. I'm an avid hammock camper and this by far fits into my lot of hammocks and deserving of a spot in my gear closet.

 Everything I could think of was included (only the poles to push out the head/foot area are not). [URL REMOVED] threw everything in a 25 liter pack along with a Hammock Gear Econ 30 top quilt and went to read the paper down by the brook. It made for a very pleasant afternoon! You definitely need to practice getting in and out of it, it can be comical if you don't have your technique down. It does take up a bit of room and weight in your pack, if your considering one for multiple days on the trail I would splurge for the ultralight

 So that's not an issue. I just put this back on for the review just to kind of show you you know what's in the box stock so that that's really my only complaint is the rain fly is really too small. If you're going to be, you know using it in the winter. If you're going to be using it in the rain, it's very very small

 I think you can adjust the tension of this. I haven't done anything with this, though, but there's a whole bunch of setup. Instructions on on hennessy hammock comm be sure to check that out. Another feature I, like you, have this big pocket where you can store whatever you want water bottle

I had to deal with their customer service on another rain fly that I purchased, which I ended up returning, because I kind of I didn't really like it, and I just decided to use my E & O tarp, but I already had I was trying to save So I was trying to save weight and I ordered the bigger rain fly, but I ended up returning it. So my dealings with customer service, the shipping back to them, was, I think, 20 bucks and it was $ 20 shipping to get it to me, but other than that I mean I chose UPS, you can you can just do you know, Stan male and uh

 The price was off putting at first and I eventually just decided to go for it! So while the below wall of text may seem contradictory to the rating I gave it, it's more of just sharing my experiences with this hammock so that maybe people who buy it will be aware and prepared for when they take it out.  This thing is nice and light weight and since it has no true "hard" pieces I could throw it in a compression sack if I want. Usually I just keep it in its stuff sack close to the top of my pack.  Now while this maybe strictly due to operator error, but setup is definitely a learning process

Excellent product with a few minor issues

I use a Hennessy Expedition Zip hammock and really like it. It’s not the lightest system out there but for $160 you get a nice hammock that has a ridge line and bugnet built in and also comes with a rainfly. It’s a nice setup to start with because it comes with everything you need (except whatever you’re using for insulation). If you have an REI membership you can get 20% off right now

I'm joining my friend on the Appalachian Trail for the first couple weeks. He's hammock camping and I'd like to hammock camp as well, so I've been doing my research. However I'm getting a bit overwhelmed with the options. I'm going to need all the normal things: bug net, rain tarp, suspension, etc. I have a sleeping bag so I don't think I need an underquilt.

Budget: No more than $200 for everything 

Time frame: I'm leaving in early June so I'd like to get this as soon as possible.

Having trouble sifting through options. Can anyone recommend a good budget hammock setup for a 2 week backpacking trip?

 That'S something nice to think about before you set your hammock up. You don't want to have to get in and out of it against a wall, so we're going to take our cordage and we're gon na run it through both of our nylon straps, and there is a pretty cool lash that is kind of typical of the hennessy Hammock, it's less of a knot and more of just a wrap of your rope. So once you get your rope through both ends of your webbing you're gon na pull it tight and we'll just put a little half hitch in there right now to keep it stationary until we get our hammock kind of centered between the trees, this one will do Kind of the same thing go through one set view the next set and we'll half-hitch it there, pull it nice and tight, and we're on this side see and see you want about a 30 degree. Hang really! You want the the base of your hammock to be about chair height, there's a pretty good rule of thumb, so the lashing technique that we're going over

 You can see the asymmetric shape really really well, there's a point here with an elastic guy line and a point here with an elastic guy line and that kind of helps hold the hammocks shape, while you're sleeping in it. That, combined with this patented ridge line, allow for a really roomy comfortable, lay so you're gon na take your elastic guy line, and these again are designed just to hold shape. So this can go around pretty much any vegetation. So this is one of the optional add-ons that you can purchase through hennessy

 It'S got that asymmetrical shape that Hennessey is known, for it does a great job of keeping you nice and comfortable when you're, laying on that perfect diagonal yeah. Let'S get this thing set up, so we've got our trees picked out, they're kind of close, maybe about 12 feet apart. Ideally, you'd want them about 15 to 25 as possible, but this should work just fine for our demonstration today. So we're gon na take our webbing

 It all tucks away in here and you can strap it on the outside of your pack or coil it up on the inside of your pack and it'll, keep all of your gear inside nice and dry. Your rain fly. Has these two plastic rings on either side? So you're going to take your o-ring and up on your suspension line, you have these two tension knots, it's Prosek knot which are designed to slide when pressure is applied to the knot, but when pressure is applied to the hook, they bite and do not slide. So you know, take your o-ring clip it into that hook and we can just kind of let that hang out there do the same thing

Great Hammock for Camping

 One night on long climbing rope in the only trees around, mine lowered slowly until it sat on an unseen ant hill -  Hanging stuff is the best option for your gear - I made a few loops from 550 chord to hold boots, and such up on the inside line so it is all fast to find.  The netting has stopped everything that has tried to get into it.  Weight of the hammock is not bad and the price compared to how comfortable, it is is worth it. I am a little big for this model, but for the lower price and weight I can live with my feet touching the far end or just curling up my legs

Once you get over being in the air - it is great

 No more searching for the perfect location for my tent and, not finding it, having to make due with a not quite even surface to sleep on. Literally anywhere with a couple of trees and some shrubs (though four trees is better) is the perfect spot!

All in all, a great buy for warmer climates/seasons with trees. Again, WAY more comfortable than my sleeping mat on the ground. Awesome for the minimalist.

 Your body weight pulls on them all night and makes it impossible to untie. Luckily I had known to use a few synchs and others to get the line tight, knots solid but also easy to untie in the morning.

Guard against wind. It may be a warm night, but if you don't pick your location correctly, it could be a very cold night.
