Altra Provision 6

I was recommended Altra Provision 6 at my local running store, but after running for half a mile (and giving them a second chance with a mile-long walk), it's clear that these are worse than the Escalante 2s for my knees. I assume because of the support they provide, making them less neutral. The arches of the insole also drive up into my heel in an odd place, and they seem to want my feet to be shoved back further than possible and have my toes facing inwards.

I walk between 7-10 miles a day and find that the cushioning of the Provision is good for me. However, the footshape at the top is narrower than the Torin or other Altras I have purchased. I would check out Altra Provision or Torin. Altra makes running shoes that are natural foot shaped, light and super comfy and all zero drop.

Not sure if the heal is thinner but it gave me new blisters on the side of my foot unfortunately. Other than that very comfortable, I’m bummed about the blisters & that I’ll have to return. Tried them for about a week to see if I just needed to break them in. Nice cushion.

If zero drop interests you, altra has the Provision and Paradigm. Both have rails to engage and support when needed. The paradigm is a premium cushioned shoe while the provision is less plush and a bit cheaper.

The raised part on the back of the shoe dug into my ankle when I ran. Not sure if anyone else experienced this? I have to return them and get a different style.

Timp: First pair of their trail shoes and enjoyed them. Now I use these for hiking.

Provision 6's!! They're super cushioned, and labeled as stability but I think they work for neutral (I'm a neutral runner). The toe box is a dream. I wear a 10.5 in most running shoes and these are no exception. :)
