 Hi, from Warwick, I'm product specialist and clinician Andy Irvine.

 I'm here with the Rockbass Corvette Basic.

 This is the active version and the five-string model.

 The first thing that stands out to us in this Corvette model is the beautiful finish over

 Warwick is known for its tonewoods, and that goes for the Rockbasses too, only the highest

 An alder solid body, three-piece laminated maple neck for strength and stability, and

 a solid beautiful rosewood fingerboard, another time-tested warm tonewood.

 We have 24 frets over a 34-inch scale, and we have a nice slightly curved 26-inch radius

 on the fingerboard, which is very comfortable to play.

 As we move up to the headstock, we of course have the cool Warwick headstock and the classic

Favourite bass?

 At just shy of £1000, the multiscale corvette seems to be sensibly priced. Some players may worry the multiscale will be off-putting, but despite the less than perfect factory setup, the adjustment needed to play was a lot less than Ryan initially thought, and in fact the bass was most likely more comfortable than an equivalent standard scaled instrument. Add to this the versatile pickups and generally good quality of build, and this first foray into new ground for Warwick is a sure winner. I hope you've enjoyed this video from Bass Guitar Review

 Admittedly, these were easily fixed with a quick tweak, but we don't think it's too much to ask of a nearly £1000 bass that it arrived playing cleanly, and it was a particular shame as otherwise we felt the bass to be an excellent example of Warwick's workmanship, with very good quality hardware and a professional feel. However, Ryan also did feel a little let down by the low B string which, despite the added scale length, appeared to suffer from a lack of tension for more aggressive playing, although a shift in string gauge or brand could counter this. Moving onto the tone, we found that the real stars of the show were the pickup wiring switches, allowing you to go from a more vintage and bright sounding single coil, to a classic series humbucker tone with more bottom and top with a pleasing mid-range scoop, to parallel wiring which offered more low end with a muted higher range. It's a shame that the preamp doesn't include a mid-range control, but overall we felt the Soapbar humbuckers to be an excellent match for the tones you'd expect from this bass

 been watching Ryan demonstrating the all new Rock Bass Multiscale 5 string Corvette from

 With a red older body and a maple burl veneer top, this corvette bass has a laminated maple

 and ikanka neck with a wenge fingerboard. With a radius of 26 inches and 24 jumbo frets,

 the star of the show is the Multiscale with the low B string at 35.5 inches and the G

 at 34 inches. Two passive MEC soap bar humbucker pickups can be switched between series, single

 coil or parallel wiring before hitting an active rock bass circuit with bass and treble

 controls as well as a master volume and pickup blend. With a rock bag, student line plus

 gig bag included, the Multiscale 5 string corvette has an RRP of 979 pounds.

 Of course, the first thing that struck us with this instrument was the multiscale, and the slightly off-put-in sight of slanted frets.

 Although this is Warwick's first foray into multiscales, the concept has been tried and tested on many other instruments.
