I will be living the digital nomad life out of my car, so I don't need a travel-size bag, just something I can pop into a coffee shop or office with, take out my laptop and 2 monitors and accessories and get to work. But alas there is the problem- I have not just my laptop but 2 portable screens that also need protection. They are all 15in. Ideally there would be some padding between the 3 of these items, but I could probably get away with stashing the two screens side by side if it opened me up to some better bags. I also really like a techwear aesthetic, if that's not getting too specific! Thank you!

 It has two main compartments. Of course it has my usual cash loops for me to hold my macbook pro in place and then it has a whole separate compartment. Usually that's where I put my Freudian slip. I own one for this bag too I'll put that in that pocket, and I will have my macbook in here

That said, we’re not sure how much we’re liking this setup—our tech is almost free-floating inside. We would’ve appreciated a dedicated laptop sleeve built directly into the bag, but this integration does make for smooth, quick access (and we can dig that if nothing else).

Moving on to the front compartment. The compression straps on the side of the bag can inhibit the zippers, so it’s easier to undo them when you need to get inside. Once you do have those out of the way, this compartment opens up about halfway down in regular horseshoe-fashion, which still offers quick access to your stuff. 

There are #10 YKK zippers that secure the main compartment, and #8 YKK zippers on the pockets. They feel robust in the hand and have been working smoothly for the most part during our testing—though the zippers on the front pockets have been a little hard to grab, which can slow down our access some. The good news is, Tom Bihn includes Cord Zipper Pulls with most of their bags, which helps mitigate this issue.

Great travel backpack

 Plus, the Osprey is unable to stand upright on its own (due to not having a flat bottom) and the Tortuga can. Thus, making it easy to put the bag down on the floor when not carrying it.  -comfortable carry-on bag that is designed as a minimal backpack. Can be incognito from budget airlines and can blend into a crowd of people in a city without looking like a tourist

 Though the Osprey had a better harness/waist strap system, but for the size of bag, the Tortuga's removable waist straps works just fine. Most times I don't even use the waist straps unless I know I will be walking for over 20+ minutes. Plus, the Osprey is unable to stand upright on its own (due to not having a flat bottom) and the Tortuga can. Thus, making it easy to put the bag down on the floor when not carrying it

I was torn between this and the Osprey Farpoint 40L. After trying both of them out, the Tortuga won. Though the Osprey had a better harness/waist strap system, but for the size of bag, the Tortuga's removable waist straps works just fine. Most times I don't even use the waist straps unless I know I will be walking for over 20+ minutes

Best Travel Backpack

 Bag was comfortable and secure, travelled well around the city and doesn’t seem as big as it is. Highly recommend for travelers who want a lot of room but don’t want to check a bag. If you don’t have inserts of your own you might want to buy them to help maintain shape structure but overall highly recommended.

I took the 45L bag from the US to Rio and back as a carry-on bag. No issues from the airlines and I had the bag full to max weight with equipment and clothing. Bag was comfortable and secure, travelled well around the city and doesn’t seem as big as it is. Highly recommend for travelers who want a lot of room but don’t want to check a bag
