This is my first "real" bass and I'm generally pretty satisfied with the sound/feel. My main qualm is that it's clear that they cut a few corners to bring the cost of this bass down so low - this is especially noticeable when you're really looking close at the bass (otherwise it looks/feels like a great instrument from afar). Particularly noticeable on the one I received is that two of the pickguard screws don't actually fit in their drilled holes, so I'm constantly (daily) needing to screw them back in or else they'd just fall out and be lost. I can't complain much since it really isn't enough to send it back
