Other mirrorless camera systems, including models from Fujifilm and Sony, also don't work with IR focus assist. There is some speculation that a flash projecting a green grid, like the color of the Z 7's assist beam, would speed up autofocus in very dim light, and be less distracting than a bright assist beam.
