If you have unlimited money. this is a decent camera for the value. Most platforms format footage to be worse quality than this camera, so there is no point paying this much for the high resolution/framerate of this camera if the social media platforms downgrade it.  that being said, it takes amazing video

 This is a very dim display and it's actually quite washed out we're okay shooting in the shade, but in direct sunlight. I find i'm constantly looking for that electronic viewfinder that doesn't exist to compose my shot so in lieu of that viewfinder. On top, we now get tally lamps on both the front and back on the front we get a incredibly dim. I actually can't even see if it's recording me right now

 So what i did for a test here is, i shot the fx3 and the panasonic s1h at 12 800 iso. Now noise reduction is fixed in the fx3 and it's quite aggressive. So you can see it default settings a little bit more detail in the panasonic, but quite a bit more noise. However, the panasonic gives you the option to increase the noise reduction and there you can get a very similar image out of both of them

 I absolutely love dp reviews, video studio scene because it'll, let you check the detail, levels of different cameras and different record modes in ideal settings. What it doesn't really tell you about, though, is in very low light. So what i did for a test here is, i shot the fx3 and the panasonic s1h at 12 800 iso. Now noise reduction is fixed in the fx3 and it's quite aggressive

 I'Ve never run into any overheat concerns, but i know some people in warmer climates have run into overheating problems, and for that reason, if you need continuous, uninterrupted recording, especially out shooting in bright sun, the fx3 is just going to be the best option for you because Of that built-in fan, if this is a camera that is just going to be living on a tripod, doing very long takes for things like documentary and event work, then i think the fx3 is absolutely the right call, especially since it includes the xlr module to plug Additional mics into it that are going to be really useful in those situations, the a7s iii is still going to be a better run and gun model. I find it's much more comfortable to use the controls with the camera up at eye level, you get a beautiful electronic viewfinder on it and with the addition of s sine tone to the a7 s3 there's, no image quality reason to get an fx3. The real issue is, i wish, when sony announced the a7 s3, they told us that the fx3 was coming, because i could see a lot of people who picked that camera up, expecting it to be sony's best compact, video, workhorse and now they're feeling a little bit Burned because they really wanted things like that, unlimited record time or they purchased that xlr module separately, but if you're in the market right now for a compact, full-frame camera, i think it'll just come down to the type of work that you do for me. Personally, i love using an electronic viewfinder

Sony FX3 Review (+ comparison to Sony a7S III)

Coming from the Blackmagic pocket 4k I thought I would enjoy the connivence of better battery life, amazing autofocus and smaller form factor. The colour science with slog-3 was a let down as well as the overly digital look it had. The biggest factor for me was the chroma noise in the shadows, I figured the 10bit codec would be good enough for this but it was not. I really wanted to like this camera

You also have to stick to the native iso's(640 &12,800) otherwise there's some pretty nasty noise that isn't natural/filmic looking as it's de-noised internally and you can't turn off de-noising.

Overhyped and overpriced?

 And if the camera's on a tripod, sometimes it's sort of hard to go in here and push that and twist the lens off. I have found after using both systems, the Canon way is much easier because the button's right here. If the camera's on a tripod or rigged up, you can push the button and change the lens really easily because it's really accessible and that access leads to success. So those are some ways that that sucks less than the FX3, although none of these suck

 I'm also going to tell you a few things that I like better about my Canon camera. So this is the EOS R. Obviously in terms of specs, it doesn't necessarily compare with the Sony cameras, but that almost proves my point more so. One of the things I love a lot more about Canon cameras are the flip out screens

 The Sony FX3 has unexpectedly become my main camera

 So let's talk about this awesome little camera

 and see if the FX3 is a good fit for thee.

 Obviously the FX3 has been out for a while right now

 and there are a lot of other really good,

 really in-depth technical reviews about it.

 So I'm not gonna go necessarily that route.

 Instead, I'm going to explain how I use it,

 some of the things I don't like about it

 that may or may not make a difference for you

 if you're trying to decide on the right camera.

 I bought the FX3 along with all of my Sony cameras

 I will be wearing this awesome Canon shirt

 that I like better about my Canon camera.

 it doesn't necessarily compare with the Sony cameras,

 but that almost proves my point more so.

 One of the things I love a lot more about Canon cameras

 are Canon's flip out screens sort of a wider aspect ratio.

 They're also higher resolution and more color accurate.

 And the thing that's crazy about that is this camera,

 So the older, cheaper camera has a better display

 and Canon has pretty much always had really great displays

 The other thing, which is a very small thing,

 is I don't like where the Sony lens release button is.

 If you notice, Canon is on the outer side of the lens,

 sometimes it's sort of hard to go in here

 If the camera's on a tripod or rigged up,

 you can push the button and change the lens really easily

 So those are some ways that that sucks less

 than the FX3, although none of these suck.

 for all three of my Sony cameras and in each video,

 Oh, one other thing I like more about Canon cameras,

 I like the build quality and the physical design

 but kind of just prefer the feel and design

 So let's start things off by talking about the good,

 I really love how just sturdy and solid this camera is.

 but it's made out of high-end materials.

 It doesn't feel like you have to be super delicate with it.

 Of course you do because it's expensive,

 but it can stand up to what you need it to do.

 Like it is supposed to be a professional level

 to that kind of workflow and those kinds of environments.

 And the build quality is tied really close

 to the physical design, which I do really, really like.

 with their lowest end entry into the cinema lineup,

 and we'll talk about what that means a little bit later,

 is they're going for an incredibly compact camera.
