Current reviews of Sony a7Rii seem to reflect the same auto focus = requires Fast Heavy lens as I see with Sony a6300. Great results with a6000 & a6300 in DMF or Manual mode. Like my old Minolta STR-102 (yes 1970's days of film).

I know many reviewers are critical of the Sony menu system, but I've had no problems learning to use it efficiently. Once the camera's settings are customized to your preferences, there is little need to dive into the full menu system anyhow. I then tried to use the manual focus but nothing happens, I remembered I had to turn the manual focus option on, so I get into the menu and the focus mode option is greyed out, if I try get into the option an error message "your lens is not supported or its installed incorrectly" shows up, only way to go is to shut camera off and turned it on again, which will return autofocus to work, but if i repeat the exercise it just stops working all over again, sometimes even without crop mode/zoom mode on, just by going from 28 to 70 mm on the lens, or even mid way, maybe 40 mm or 50 mm. Sometimes even the camera would pull me out of menu screen, I would click menu button, I am trying to navigate menu, then you can hear the focus mechanism moving and camera pulls me out of menu screen o regular screen, I have to press menu again, sometimes to be pulled out of the menu repeated times I re installed the lens (white dot with white dot, turn until click noise) golden plates on the lens are clean, did this 3 times, nothing. I called Amazon service, friendly person who quickly contacted me to Sony, and this is the part I did not like. We went through basic things to try and fix the issue, including resetting the camera, after which the issue presented itself quite quickly, so the person at Sony (again, a very friendly and helpful person) told me I needed to send the camera back to Sony for service

focus is not much difference when use Sony lenses. But when using Canon lenses through Metabones adapter, focus speed is amazing! The A9 has all of Sony’s bells and whistles, but it comes with a price tag to match. The new A7 models, however, bring many of the A9’s advancements down to more pedestrian price levels. These are certainly still professional level cameras — the A7 III runs for $1,999 without a lens, while the higher-resolution A7R III commands $3,199 — but the difference in price from the A9 leaves a lot of room for lenses or other necessary equipment.

Cons: Price. Buyers must be ready to pay at least $1350 for the body+55-210mm lens. But the buyers do get best in class 4K video, best Autofocus in the Mirrorless and other functions present in A7 series for a third of the price. Battery is another disadvantage since it drain fast, especially when recording 4K video, but there are options for extra batteries and charger for A6300/A6000

A Sony A7iii could be an option as they’re slightly lighter and, being an older generation, cheaper. The biggest bulk & weight is going to be your lens though and if you’re using it professionally I wouldn’t recommend cutting down on the quality of lens so I’m not sure how much you’re going to save in terms of weight and size overall to be honest!

Now that I have the A6300 to compare, it definitely is a heavier, sturdier and all around camera better to handle and hold. Though I still prefer the Nikon D500, the Sony A6300 is a close second.

Before getting into the details, I'll just get the summary out of the way: This camera is fantastic. It is replacing my aging Canon 5D Mark III, and it does that job well. 4K quality is absolutely stunning, and paired with a gimbal, you will be a force not to be reckoned with. Great camera. Cons No stabilization. You pretty much have to use a gimbal to get good, stable shots for cinematography or film in 120fps and slow it down
