Sire Marcus Miller M7 Bass vs Yamaha RBX Series

Consider a Sire Marcus Miller bass. Amazing value and playability. I’ve been ignoring my Dingwall a lot since picking up a V5 on a whim.

No regrets at all, it is a fine playing and sounding bass guitar. Two volume knobs control which pick ups you want to use, with just enough difference between the 2 to be useful. The neck is a bit wider than on other bass guitars I have played, making it a bit heavier to play for my short fingers but then I am more a guitar player, so I expect to struggle a bit! Unless you start playing like Billy Sheehan and do lots of string bending, this bass will stay well in tune and will give you lots of value for money. I enjoy it and find myself recording bass lines to (guitar-) solo over and ended up writing some tunes in the process, something I rarely do on the guitar

Was looking for something more trebly and melodic than my Precision. Went to the store, tried some basses. Didn't know much about the Marcus Miller Sire basses, but fell in love immediately. The guy at the store even said "I could tell you liked that one", because I was jamming on it for quite some time haha

The frets seem to all be even on mine, and the single-cutaway body lets one reach the highest notes without straining too hard. The pickups are pretty good; their casing is, again, cheap-looking plastic, but I've yet to have an issue with their functioning. Finally, I'm still using the strings that came on this bass, and never had a problem, as they have a fairly good sound and stay in tune quite well. Third is the sound
