This was at the low to mid point in pricing. The sound quality is acceptable as an adjunct to your tv's internal speaker but if you think this will provide a rich sound.. it doesn't

 Now for the good This was child's play to hook up.. I used both optical and wireless.

 No difference. Even went as far as upgrading the firmware with the July 2022 version, performing a factory reset on my Samsung 43 TV and a factory reset of the soundbar. Worth noting that I tried different power sources - plugging the woofer and soundbar into independent power outlets, with and without a surge protector. NOTHING

 I guess I will find out soon enough. Fingers crossed that this is just a faulty/wiring issue with the subwoofer. I am posting this to make others aware of the challenges with this product and maybe to spare you from the 4+ hours of frustrating troubleshooting, disappointment, and emotional/psychological exhaustion. So, much for movie night :(

Faulty subwoofer

 Maybe I was expecting too much, but I got more Watts than was recommended for the size of our room, and it just isn't enough! If anyone has any suggestions for getting better performance (other than getting a hearing aid!) - I'd appreciate the feedback.

 When we play older DVDs on our new TV, without the sound bar the volume was too low to hear at all if there was any background noise (even a neighbor mowing his grass, or trucks going by). With the old TV, these same videos would require max volume, but we could hear it if maxed out. With the new TV, and with no sound bar, the background noise would wipe out the volume and we'd have to replay a segment. With the sound bar, we are back where we were with the old TV -- just barely enough volume at Max

Not as loud as I expected

 It was tested in my media room that’s about 15’ wide by about 20’ long. One thing I noticed was I did have to put the volume up a lot higher than my other system of the same brand. I did hear more of the center channel, but the rest of the sound effects were just a little lower. Not having rear surrounds is noticeable, but it is an option for this system

Great entry level soundbar

 Perhaps there is a TV setting that can disable this, but for now, it's annoying to hear when the television program features someone speaking.  Using the supplied digital optical cable is much better for sound quality than Bluetooth. But when using the cabled connection, volume must be controlled exclusively from the soundbar's remote as the TV has no control over the audio when in this mode.  The remote control that comes with the device is very poor quality

I'm using this with a Toshiba Fire TV.  Bluetooth has very poor audio quality from the TV. There's some level of "comfort noise" that is added that just sounds like a background hiss. Any sort of click sounds generated by navigating through the TV's menus have this observable noise that precedes the sound

While the very low price of the Vizio V-Series 2.1 Home Theater Sound Bar V21-H8 had us momentarily questioning our ears, we can assure you this soundbar sounds better than several more expensive competitors, while offering a dearth of useful features and presets. There is a powerful subwoofer that Vizio recommends placing next to or behind the audience, where increased proximity to the rumbly bass makes for an exciting experience. Dialogue enhancement and night mode also make for a great viewing experience at lower volumes.
Though this model is solid for the price point, it can't hold a candle to the higher-end model in terms of overall sound quality. While powerful, the bass can sound muddy and overwhelm the rest of the mix. When we did turn the bass down, the weak mids and sometimes harsh treble became more apparent. This isn't too much of a problem when watching action films at high volumes, but it makes for a poor experience when using the soundbar to listen to music. Still, this soundbar is a monumental improvement over any built-in TV speakers, and if your bank account can't absorb a high-end sound system to pair with your newly acquired flat screen, the Vizio V-Series 2.1 Home Theater Sound Bar is a very solid option.

They also have quite a few uh products that the audio file within you would certainly love to take a look at we're talking. Speakers headphones, sound bars amongst all those things, so uh take a look at that company and potentially make the decision to buy a usa made avoiding this 160 dollar sound bar

Vizio V21 review: Best soundbar under $200

I have v21 h8 and it is been very difficult to set up. Assistant can link via Bluetooth but then you cannot have other devices link to the soundbar. There is voice assistant aux in but sadly no ga gh product has 3.5 mm jack

I currently have a Google mini in the TV room which I use to turn on/off the TV and Hue lights. The one device in the room that Google can't affect is the soundbar though, any time the volume is too soft/loud I have to find where the kids last placed the remote. Most soundbar Google assistant descriptions describe using the soundbar to receive voice commands like a Google mini, but I'm not finding descriptions if the soundbar can be controlled using commands like "turn up the volume on the Vizio" (regardless of what input it is currently using). I'm currently looking at the Vizio M512a-H6, has anyone had any experience with this?
