About the Salomon XA 25 After a few longer runs including a 195km/16000m+ multiday adventure I'm still undecided on how to feel about this pack. This pack runs really big in my opinion. I have a M/L Adv Skin 12lt pack from a few year ago that fits me perfectly. With this pack (in size S/M) despite sinching it down to the max the fit is not 100% confortable

 After 8h on the trails the pack at almost full capacity (around 8-9kg) started being very heavy on my shoulders causing bruises which I believe is from the awkward fit. Love the WP main compartment and the posterior cangaroo pouch. I would love 2 mesh side pockets like on hiking packs to carry 2 extra water bottles instead of using a water bladder (failed on me several times). So in conclusion I believe the pack has a huge huge potential but comes a bit short on delivery

Looking for people who have tried Ultimate Direction, UltrAspire and the Palante Joey packs and their experience with the three: fit, max weight, durability etc.

 But back now, as I said, this is really a great adventure. back I wouldn't really use it for going on a 60 kilometer trail run or anything like that because it's just too much space for what you need to carry. Well there you go. As I said depending if it's an adventure and you're just going out to do a thing, but you're like racing or something I'm going to do an event I would say no a bladder goes in there by the way

Salomon XA 25 Set Review - My Favourite Fastpacking Pack

 so this pack is really designed to be super convenient. Allow you to move quickly so you can get stuff easily as you go so you stay really focused on Mike moving quickly, a train and a pocket on the back so that's a show.

 It's got some volume on the back, some extra compression of stuffing your wind shirt down, some internal organization for keys, and so on, and then on the front. It's got two flat pockets, extra stretchy pockets for gels, whatever you want to put in there zip pocket for some security, put your phone in there while you run, and then it's got a hydration sleeve down the back. It's basically everything you need in a very simple form for going for a long run. Then, as we move up the range for people who want something a bit more substantial, bit more sophisticated for longer runs for training for long distances, we've got our advanced skin, so we have men's and women's in this style

I didn't actually use it climbing, but it would have stored really well in a my approach pack, though I am worried about the durability of the front cord and it doesn't have great attachment points. I can kind of understand that given it isn't marketed as a climbing pack.

I bought this to replace an old patagonia pack. I wanted to use it as a run-commute pack on weekdays (it needs to fit a 13" macbook), an easy daypack for hikes and backpacking trips, and a multi-pitch pack on climbs. It packed great for commuting and hiking, but it was just too big on me. It was comfortable, so I thought I could make it work, but after a week I returned it

I am an average sized athletic-ish woman and bought this in the s/m. It ended up being hilariously large on me even with all of the straps pulled down as tight as possible. It might not be fair to market this as "unisex". 

 It packed great for commuting and hiking, but it was just too big on me. It was comfortable, so I thought I could make it work, but after a week I returned it. The shoulder straps had extra fabric, which messed with the weight distribution, and the torso was probably too long.

Please make this in a smaller size

Great travel backpack

 Plus, the Osprey is unable to stand upright on its own (due to not having a flat bottom) and the Tortuga can. Thus, making it easy to put the bag down on the floor when not carrying it.  -comfortable carry-on bag that is designed as a minimal backpack. Can be incognito from budget airlines and can blend into a crowd of people in a city without looking like a tourist

 Though the Osprey had a better harness/waist strap system, but for the size of bag, the Tortuga's removable waist straps works just fine. Most times I don't even use the waist straps unless I know I will be walking for over 20+ minutes. Plus, the Osprey is unable to stand upright on its own (due to not having a flat bottom) and the Tortuga can. Thus, making it easy to put the bag down on the floor when not carrying it

I was torn between this and the Osprey Farpoint 40L. After trying both of them out, the Tortuga won. Though the Osprey had a better harness/waist strap system, but for the size of bag, the Tortuga's removable waist straps works just fine. Most times I don't even use the waist straps unless I know I will be walking for over 20+ minutes

Best Travel Backpack

 Bag was comfortable and secure, travelled well around the city and doesn’t seem as big as it is. Highly recommend for travelers who want a lot of room but don’t want to check a bag. If you don’t have inserts of your own you might want to buy them to help maintain shape structure but overall highly recommended.

I took the 45L bag from the US to Rio and back as a carry-on bag. No issues from the airlines and I had the bag full to max weight with equipment and clothing. Bag was comfortable and secure, travelled well around the city and doesn’t seem as big as it is. Highly recommend for travelers who want a lot of room but don’t want to check a bag
