 So there's clips right here, there's four of them, and then there's also these little clips here to make it extra sturdy. Also, all of these poles that help set the tent up and the rain fly clips have a color coating system so that it's really easy to set up. We always start with blue, and then there's black, and then silver. We can have this tent set up in less than five minutes

 And it also comes with these guy lines just in case you can't drive that stake in the ground and you need to extend it a little bit more to get a good spot. Now let's check out the inside of the tent. First of all, the fact that I can almost stand up in this tent is a huge bonus because getting dressed in a tent where you have to lay down or sit down is really hard. Also, you've already seen the two massive doors and check this out

 They open up to screen doors, which is really great for the ventilation system. In addition to this, one of my favorite parts is that there's a ton of storage here, here, here, here, here, here, even up top, like right here and here and here and up here. Another thing that REI nailed is the ventilation on this tent, just like MK said, there's screens in the doors and in case you get warm at night, there's little screens right next to where you lay and there's screens on top. All of these things were strategically designed by REI to maximize airflow to keep you cold during the hot or warm during the cold

REI Co-Op Basecamp 4 TENT REVIEW - YouTube

 Let's get the tent out and get it set up. All right, so we got the tent laid out here. As you can tell, it's a real big tent. It's a 110 by 110, which is almost the exact same floor size as the Kingdom 6, which is 120 by 100, I believe, so literally almost the exact same size

 Still leave the rain fly on itself but you're going to get maximum ventilation this way while still having the rain fly on you still have your little porch so if you're in a really light rain, really light, you're going to be able to leave everything tucked back like this so that's another really cool feature that I wasn't expecting. Just another cool little perk of the tent. Well guys I appreciate you watching. This is the REI Basecamp 6

 So the tent that we got is the REI Base Camp 6. This is a very similar tent to the REI Kingdom 6 with, I mean, several differences, but it's still a big family camping tent, six person tent, works really well for our family of four. It is not lightweight, it's not small, but I think this is going to work well for us. I hope it does at least, so let's get it out of the bag and set it up and check out what this thing's all about

 We will have a more comprehensive review of this tent after we use it a couple times definitely in some sort of weather to be able to give you a more honest review of the tent itself. But so far just setting it up, seeing the features. We really like it. It's really cool and we're really happy with it

This is not a full on review of the REI Base Camp 6 tent. This is the first time we set the tent up. This video is to show how to set the tent up and talk about a few of the features of the tent. It seems to be pretty sturdy and well made. I do wonder about the ventilation and the rainproofness of the tent after our experience with our newer version of the REI Kingdom 6. When we do a full review of this tent, I will post a link to that video below.

 Sure, it would be tight, but you could do it if you wanted to. So I say the six person rating of this tent is actually pretty fair. And if you want to have a more luxurious camping experience, you could also fit in here a queen size air mattress at the same time as the Exped Duo sleeping pad, because I tried that out and it worked also. It's also worth comparing this tent to some other six person rated tents because they are of various sizes

 It's basically a one-ended stuff sack. And so you've got to get it rolled up and then maybe lift it and then have somebody else hold the bag and put it inside, which you can't really do if you're trying to do it by yourself. You kind of have to slide it in there and then lift it up, which is basically what I did when I was packing this away. And I find it just a lot less convenient than a side opening stuff sack like they have with the North Face Wawona or the Eureka Copper Canyon LX6

 And if you want to have a more luxurious camping experience, you could also fit in here a queen size air mattress at the same time as the Exped Duo sleeping pad, because I tried that out and it worked also. It's also worth comparing this tent to some other six person rated tents because they are of various sizes. I did find that the poles were a little bit tricky to get out of the sleeve because they were just coming apart inside of the sleeve. I had a little bit of difficulty getting that out, but it wasn't too bad

 Now, this might sound a little bit strange because it is a six person rated tent. However, it's important to know that this person capacity rating is not industry standard, which means that the manufacturer can actually label it however they like, which is what makes it so important to look at the actual dimensions of the tent or to watch a video like this one where we can actually put it to test. So let's see if this six person tent could actually fit six people. As you can see here, I could actually fit six sleeping pads inside of this tent

 Even with the partial mesh doors open, rainfly vents propped up, and floor vents unzipped, the Base Camp 6 simply can’t compete with a mesh-heavy design. It certainly does the trick in moderate temperatures, but the solid fabric side walls and full-coverage rainfly limit air circulation. The pricier Marmot Limestone beats the Base Camp fairly easily in this respect. The Marmot has a healthy dose of mesh on the front door, sides, and roof—all of which help to keep air moving on muggy nights

 Secondly, you get two large doors and vestibules with the REI (the Cabela’s comes with just one). And finally, the Base Camp has far better interior storage with its 14 well-distributed pockets. Unless you need 4-season-worthy weather protection, the Base Camp is the more well-rounded design. Lastly, Big Agnes’ Big House 6 is another impressively livable tent at a good price

 Closest I've done is parts of the Appalachian Trail which does have a lot of elevation change, but it doesn't have the overall elevation that you have out in the Rockies So I wanted something as light as possible but still comfortable. I Am accustomed to camping in a hammock so I wasn't sure how going back to ground was going to be. It turned out the tarp tent Pro Trail was very comfortable and very lightweight for a hike. What's happening today I Want to talk with you about the tarp tent Pro Trail tent now I First ordered this tent when I was planning my trip to Philmont High Adventure camp with the scouts. I Wanted something really lightweight, really easy to carry I was trying to lessen the burden I had for hiking 60 some miles in the New Mexico Rockies Being from Florida and accustomed to Florida elevation I wasn't sure how it was going to affect me being at that elevation with those kind of mountains and hiking like that because I had never done it before. TARPTENT PROTRAIL LI | FIRST IMPRESSION AND REVIEW | ONE OF THE BEST ULTRALIGHT BACKPACKING TENTS?

 Super light, water, waterproof, weatherproof. Great doors and pockets. Nice. Got this mesh mesh right here that allows the air to flow through

We get over the venting pocket up here which is great too and a little hook up here which I use that quite a bit for young gear, lights or whatever you know

 There's rocks and sticks and stuff like that but real easy to set up even if it's raining outside. And this for stakes - hiking poles. And if you needed to take your hiking poles for you know for a day hike or something you can just tie tie the ends off to a tree or make your own and pull out of a stick or something. A Have used it three seasons and it's been a great three season tent and haven't really used it much in the winter time, but it's It's a great three season tent and that's another pro
