 So the uh i'll give a couple details on the configurations of these, because it can be kind of confusing and it was fairly confusing for me when i first got these in and i was looking at um, i was looking at kind of the the box designations And whatnot, so both of these are drifts um. So this is obviously the g10 version down here and then this is the titanium version up here. The titanium version comes in a couple, different configurations um, so you have a stonewash finish on the the blade or the the handle right here. As you can see, i think they also have like a knurled finish here

So this is the satin blade and then on the g10 version here, which is the orange g10

 So for starters, i'm going to flip this over and you can take a look at the pocket clip here now. This reminds me a lot of the spyderco wire clip because they look almost identical with a few few differences, but it's excellent. I mean the you know it there's not much to it, it's very basic, but it works, and i think it holds very well. I like a deep, carry clip on something like this

The blade isn't strong at all. Came with a chip in the edge, and varies between having a sharp and a dull edge. For the wood the finish although it's suppose to be "rustic" was really poorly done with gouges and an unfinished side. And the screws/posts didn't fit into the wood well at all

 Overall the nick in the blade, and the fact that the edge was poorly done, suggests to me that you're better of buying a high quality steel blank and just going at it with power tools till you end up with a knife blade.

Looks cool, but poor build quality - really only good for customising on the cheap.

This knife certainly isn't bad for the price, but it had a few flaws. First off, the photo shows a knife with a pin set just behind the first screw. This pin was not present on the knife I ordered. This meant there was nothing stopping the blade from going too far backwards except the tension on the screws

The problem is, if you set them tight enough to stop the blade from going backwards, it's very difficult to open. I don't know why they stopped putting this pin in, or if it's only my knife that it happens to be missing from

 That problem is now solved.  Secondly, the blade is ground very unevenly, which affects how the knife cuts, and the convex portion of the grind is very abrupt, which makes the knife difficult to sharpen, and causes it to tend to lose its edge more quickly than it really should. I solved this issue by disassembling the knife and putting a better grind on it with my belt sander. It now keeps an edge far longer, and I can get it sharper than I could before

 I also evened up the grind bevel, so it cuts more effectively.  The third issue is purely aesthetic. The handles of the knife are very roughly shaped, and look to be simply dipped in polyurethane, which drips and bubbles around the edges. The finish is uneven and ugly

 The handle, blade and ancillary hardware are all better-finished, and in general, the Opinel has much higher production values than the Svord, for about twelve bucks.  To be fair, Opinel, the second largest cutlery manufacturer in Europe, has been around for over a hundred years, and has no doubt achieved some economies of scale in that time, while Svord is a newcomer. At the same time, market forces will probably push down the price of the Svord. I have already seen it offered by one reliable vendor for about eighteen dollars

 Now for the good stuff. 1. This is a great blade. Not too many knives will shave my arm hairs right out of the box

 The pressure of the handle halves keeps the blade closed, or open. Unlike the Opinel, the blade has a tang that protrudes when the knife is closed. with the knife open, the handle halves grip the tang, which is also held in position by the user's hand. The drop point blade is just over an inch wide, with a lot of belly which makes it useful for a lot of tasks

 I could see it as a neck knife with a clip on the lanyard small enough to fit the hole in the tang.  3. It's durable. The simple mechanism and extra length of the tang should allow it to withstand some beating without complaint

 The handle is rough but the blade seems pretty good. It is bigger than you would think but not in a good way.

Basic Knife

When the knife arrived it felt very light, not a good light but cheap, knife people know what I mean. The handles are very very misaligned and is covered in splinters. Sanding doesn’t help as it’s made of like a weird plywood looking material. Most certainly not the knife I was excited to receive
