Parkhurst Allen vs Red Wing Iron Ranger 8111 Amber Harness

I'm a big fan of how the Parkhurst Allen looks, with the back of the boot curving in [(for example)](https://imgur.com/GprX3CA) instead of being straight like Thursdays [(here)](https://imgur.com/ip3q0xw) gives it a much sleeker look, and I believe the extra curve makes it easier to point your ankle outwards.

With that thinking I wanted to invest in a nice pair of black leather boots and after a lot of searching, reading reviews, reading forums I had decided on Red Wing Heritage Iron Rangers. I went to a brick and mortar store to size them and then waited to buy. Red Wings RARELY go on sale from what I've seen and for some reason these popped up for significantly less than they were in store and everywhere else. I pulled the trigger and am very happy with my purchase

They're great boots. Andrew is great to talk to on social and super responsive (he offered to ship me a new pair next day when I messaged him about the small scrape - I didn't end up wanting a new pair, just wanted to let him know in case it was something happening at the shop that he could address). The boots are high quality, comfortable, and apart from me wearing them for the wrong activities and them having subpar laces, I can't think of anything wrong with them.

They feel incredible to walk in and are surprisingly comfortable. Sometimes they catch compliments, which is neat-o. My.

Cost: Yes, these are crazy expensive, in my opinion, but I think they will be well worth the price over the long run. I've got two pairs of work boots from years ago and they were both over a $100 which, at the time, was a nutty price to pay for shoes. But those boots have lasted me literally for 20+ years. I just had one pair re-soled and they are still going strong

Let me explain. These boots are classic, made-in-the-USA boots. The company has a long history and I believe they made boots for American soldiers in WWI and WWII. They are hand made, hand inspected, with leather tanned by the very company that produces them
