Dr. Martens 1460 Smooth Leather Lace Up Boots

I've never worn docs before, but I do know these don't really take any breaking in since the leather is softer. The boot fits pretty good for the most part, but my heel lifts off the sole about a centimeter when I walk. Should I exchange for a 9 or get insoles? Ideally I'd get a 9.5 instead but that obviously isn't possible.

SO, right away the leather felt really stiff and almost breakable like if you bend it it will crack. I love the dr martens 1460 or sinclair chunky boot style but my feet cannot handle them, breaking them in is unbearable.

I wear orthotics so I like the support of these styles but I’d love something I can actually bear to walk in? Any suggestions?

the inside of the shoe was much smaller than it looked and it hurt my feet whenever i walked because of the way it made inside, the stitching and tongue of the shoe made it smaller inside. It was also way shinier than I expected.

I've tried Dr. Martens 1460 Bex in both size 39 (my usual size) and 38. It was impossible for me to wear size 39 because the boots literally fell off of my feet, no matter how tight I laced them! :(. 38 is wayy to small tho, my toes are hitting the front, even tho they fit perfectly around my ankle.
