 This is my 32 ounce nargin water bottle and it sits in there really nicely it expands out to accommodate that space, which is great you've. Also got that same water bottle pocket on the other side as well, so you could have two water bottles in there if you wanted to - or perhaps a compact umbrella, some sunglasses anything that you'd prefer to stick in that pocket. Another really cool thing that matador has done with the on grid series is that they tried to remove as much top stitching from the bag as possible. The stitching that you see around the edges that kind of stitching and they replaced it with minimalist bar tack, stitching in various points in the bag, where it's needed, and this has really helped with the overall refined, look and minimalist aesthetic in the bag, which, i think Is really cool? Turning to the back panel again with matadors packable bags, you're, not really looking for a super plush dense, you know eva foam type, padding or things like that

 So if you are using a laptop with this bag, i would highly recommend that you pair it with a protective laptop case or a protective laptop sleeve, just to make sure that it protects the laptop from any bumps or falls because there's no internal protection in this Bag, while we're here we're going to perform the rush faster, big capacity test, to show you just how many tinny six packs can fit inside this bag. Now i wouldn't necessarily use this bag as a drinks porter, because there's probably not enough strength to hold the weight of these beers, but just to give you a sense of the size we're gon na perform the test all right. So that's one! This is two now keep in mind. This is a 16 liter bag, so not sure if we can fit three but we'll try, maybe looks like maybe just maybe just yeah there

Crazy Lightweight Packable Bag - The Matador On-Grid Backpack

 So you can see on the inside of this top pocket. We'Ve got the logo here and i'm actually going to open this up a little bit just so. The air can escape, but you can easily just pack this into itself here and i like that - i think that's better than other matador bags in the past that have come with separate compression uh bags. So here it's a dual sided zipper, so you can get access to each side

 So i think this is the best of the bunch. Personally, although it's even a little bit larger, i do appreciate that the fabric is a little bit thicker a little more robust. We got the ykk zippers on there and i feel much better about the durability than i do in the advanced series i mean you can already see here on the advanced series we brought this up, but after only a little bit of testing, we already had some Kind of stitching issues on this here and then they use the different zippers on here. Non-Ykk zippers, so definitely appreciate that in the on grid series, the on grid is my favorite of these three

 Here, that's packable and durable as well here to kind of adjust the backpack straps a little bit of bar tacks down here to help reinforce, pull that up, so you can see it to help kind of reinforce that attachment point so definitely like what matador has here. As far as the durability is concerned, and a little mini strap keepers down here as well, just to kind of keep things a little more managed but yeah, i feel like in the advanced series they it was just it wasn't quite there with the fabric. I, like the on grid series fabric a little bit better and the most important part is that we're using durable, ykk zippers here and on the previous iterations. They were using sps, though they were a little more weatherproof

 So that's about it as far as what's going on in the outside of the bag, let's jump into the pocket here. Let'S this front pocket, you can see there's a bit of like fabric welting here which helps cover up the zipper. Coil gives it a little bit more of a clean look matador logo up here, nice and subtle, and this is where i've been kind of just dumping in my tech, so i haven't been using pouches here. I'Ve been trying to utilize these pockets

Matador On-Grid Packable Tote Review (Initial Thoughts)

  The laptop sleeve on the inside fit my HP Elitebook 14" well, most 15" laptops would be no problem. This is a packable daypack, so don't expect any laptop protection, so you need to be aware to set it down carefully, but it's nice that they include a laptop pocket.  The shoulder straps are sufficient for a packable daypack, I wore this bag for 8 hours at Legoland in Orlando a month ago with about 10lbs in it, and can't recall it being uncomfortable at all even once. This bag has nice strap keepers built in which help maintain a clean look

The Osprey Talon 22 is consistently one of our favorite daypacks and every year it gets better. This year, we honored it as our favorite lightweight daypack in our Best Daypacks review. This pack has a very versatile design that’s loaded with useful features. It has a dependable, lightweight design that carries weight better than most smaller packs. It has a suspension system akin to larger packs, which makes it very comfortable for many different activities. The flexible frame and padded hip belt keep this pack securely in place while you move down the trail. Osprey’s AirScape design on the back panel allows for plenty of airflow between your back and the pack, which keeps your back from getting too sweaty. It has a sleeve for a hydration bladder, an ice axe loop, trekking pole holders, a helmet carrying system, and even a place to attach a blinking light. 
As you might expect with a smaller volume pack, this isn’t the best for winter conditions when you have to carry a lot of layers. This pack is great for light and fast day trips and moves well with you as you move. For day hiking, mountain biking, and bike commuting, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better option than the Talon 22.  

Switchback Travel

If you’re looking for one daypack that can do it all, Osprey’s Talon is your best bet. At 22 liters (and made in larger versions up to 44 liters for those who need more capacity), it hits an ideal balance of comfort and features. Notably, the Talon has a real hipbelt with light cushioning, which is more comfortable than the simple webbing you get with more streamlined packs, along with a thoughtfully designed mesh backpanel. The pack also has functional organization, a nice stretchiness to it, ample attachment points including for trekking poles, a helmet, and a bike light, and is made in two sizes to dial in fit. For day hikes, travel, and everyday use, the Talon 22 is an excellent choice.

While the Talon is Osprey’s best all-rounder, the more expensive Stratos collection below offers even more padding and carrying comfort. The latter has a more substantial hipbelt along with a suspended mesh backpanel for superior support and ventilation (it’s built more like a backpacking pack than a daypack). On the flip side, the Talon is lighter at under 2 pounds, but its thinner backpanel does mean that you can sometimes feel the contents of your bag on your back, and particularly if loaded down.  Pretty spacious. There's a zippered compartment up here, not sewn in. If you've watched any of my other Osprey bag reviews, it's one of my gripes that they don't sew the bottom of this in. However, I'm going to talk about the Hike Light real quickly

 at the tail, it's A. It's a 118. So I was sliding my skis down in here both of them at the same time and I was undoing this compression strap all the way and ratcheting it down. The skis weren't super stable, but it's a feature that I think they should talk about in this bag, and I think in future iterations of this bag they should consider putting a little bit more of a strap up here so you can actually carry your skis with it

 Never felt like I could get enough in the hike light. So this bag is permanently replacing my hike light. One of the gripes that I had about the hike light was the water bottle holders. These have the actual really good stretchy ones that kind of come back now

OSPREY TALON 22 THE PERFECT BACKPACK FOR WINTER ADVENTURE

I am really thin and don't sweat much. So I prioritize comfort and padded and flexibility packs over ventilation (If I have to compromise on one). So everyone's preferences may be different.

 There's a little pocket here and tucked away in there is the webbing loop for the head of the ice axe. So if you're not using an ice axe, you can tuck that away so it doesn't catch on things. When you're walking, pop it up inside that sleeve and if you're not a big fan of stone, Go! You don't want the poles down the side of your pack? You want them on the outside out of the way that you can also store your trekking poles on this system as well. On the left-hand shoulder strap, Osprey have now introduced a really nice little mesh stretch pocket

 It's not quite big enough for a big phone, but you could get a hydration flask in there or even a Mars bar. So how does the Talon 22 fit? Well, Like I said earlier, it's really, really important to get the fit of your pack absolutely right. That's why Osprey rather helpfully do it in two different sizes and each size is size adjustable, so the fit of the pack isn't determined by your height. I'm six foot three, for instance, but I would use the shorter back system on here because my height is all in my legs

, So you have got a really stretchy nice pocket there easy to throw lightweight layer in or some wet clothing to gloves or something along those lines.. We have got who stretchy mesh side pockets with inside out compression, and that just means you can route the compression strap under the pocket like I have here or over, like I have got on this side so that inside out compression is pretty nice.

 And you have got real-ly good size throughout the entire capacity of the bag.. So it is 22 liters, but you do get a lot of capacity with that. One expansive opening really nice there

Let’s take a look at its variety of features.

I am going to turn the pack around and start

super light, but you do have a nice flexible

here, breathable mesh with this ridged foam

nice and flexible, so you can move with it
and it moves with you, so for those times

when you are out on long mountain bike days
or super fast and light day hikes, this pack

It is going to let you move very easily, while
being very breathable.
