Tear-Down of NZXT Kraken X63 Liquid Cooler

The build features a Ryzen 5 5800X and a Gigabyte GTX 3080 Ti, so it puts out a lot of heat. For CPU cooling I have the NZXT Kraken X63 280mm AIO. My main issue is that the radiator exhausts out the side of the case, and the inside fills up with the hot air coming off the RTX 3080 Ti. A further infuriating issue is that the motherboard that I got - a Gigabyte X570-I AORUS PRO WIFI - only has one usable fan header

 Considering a cheap cpu fan often benchmarks better than a lot of expensive aio’s… but worth the buy in my case (ha). Just makes your PC look even cooler (ha again).

 In case you do have an issue, contact NZXT support and they'll provide a usb hub that works as a workaround until they can roll out Krakens with the permanent fix built in or whatever.  One more thing to be aware of is that unlike what the manual says there are only 2 viable installation directions if you are planning on the screen facing right side up. It's true that there is a way to rotate the image through the NZXT CAM software but if it isn't installed in one of the aforementioned orientations then unfortunately it wont be able to rotate it to the correct orientation which seems like an odd limitation but it is what it is.  Okay so the performance of this cpu cooler is good, but I was honestly expecting just a bit more cooling efficiency from this latest pump design but it misses the mark by a non-insignificant amount

 No more thermal throttling when rendering even under 100% load with an overclock.  - Very quiet cooler, not even noticable even at 100% fan speed.  The Bad:  - Mine came with the wrong mounting brackets for the fans. There should be 1 for the larger fan and 1 for the slim fan

  Comparing to the Dark Rock Pro 4 (Assume DRP4 is a baseline 10/10): Build quality: 8/10 Fit and Finish: 5/10 Cooling ability: 9/10 Ease of Installation: 8/10 Noise levels: 10/10 Price: 11/10 Included Fans: 10/10 Looks/Style: 8/10 (subjective)  I won't call this a negative, exactly, but I think it is worth mentioning that the fan cables and included fan splitter come with an extremely rigid sheathing on them making them not very flexible compared to a normal fan cable. This can make them hard to tuck up out of the way or route through the case.  TLDR: Great cooler for the price point but could use better quality control. Dark Rock Pro 4 seems to be a better option, from my personal experience, for about $20 more (at my time of purchase)

2080S was the second best at the time, the choice of the majority of high end buyers. 9700k is also a high end part too. If it’s running loud try and determine what CPU cooler, gpu model and case you have since these are all things that can be causing the loud noise. I wouldn’t recommend liquid cooling, manufacturers will lead you to believe it’s superior but they do run a lot louder and are more expensive than air coolers so a good air cooler like the scythe Fuma 2, Noctua D15, Be Quiet dark rock 4 pro or Noctua NH U12S will work just fine

It's got a 2080super (not sure where this lies in the card family is this good or the budget one?). It also came with a i7-9700k, all air cooled. It seems to run loud when I run games with an fps cap at 75 (because my monitor).  Is this normal?  For context I do have an ultra wide and usually try max settings. Should I be looking into water cooling for gaming on this rig?  What temp should I expect to be seeing without it?  And it only came with one stick of ram which I was made clearly aware of and already upgraded that to a satisfying dual set.

It has a really interesting m.2 slot that has room for two drives (only one comes with) but it actually connects to a pcie slot instead of directly to the mother board. Does this have limitations I should be aware of? The MSRP was around 1800 and looking at the same build now it&#39;s 2,800 so I definitely dodged the price bullet at least.</p>

I got a pre-built and not sure if it's great.

With pretty good case airflow, a Scythe Fuma 2 air cooler ($60) and a tube of MX-5, I have been able to apply a +200MHz boost with PBO and with about 15 minutes of tweaking in Ryzen Master, I see max temps of 76c on AIDA64 and OCCT both on extreme settings (small FFT's, cache used, etc.). I have yet to even touch curve optimizer or scalar. I am blown away by how good this thing runs
