Noctua NH-C14S vs Thermalright AXP90-X47

The Noctua NH-C14S was noise-normalised to 35dB(A) = 80% fan speed at 50cm distance from noise source (fan). There are no power limits on either CPU (both CPU are free to draw as much wattage as needed). CPU coolers have been cross-verified with other coolers to rule out mounting issues.

I tried using the AMD stock cooler but my mini PC temps were always over 70 degrees, with this cooler I'm under 60 at most, and 36 at idle what a significant change, also the noise level is better, I'm not sure how to explain but the AMD stock cooler has an annoying noise, this one is less loud and less annoying basically I can stand this noise level the whole day without getting irritated by it

You've only got about 40 millimeters, so good looking in the case. Really, really easy to install both of these Noctua coolers, the 15S and the 14S. N...

it started out at a decent rate but within less than 2 minutes, the rendering fps were less than halved due to thermal throttling. the case is completely open. i felt around the underside of the cooler and the cpu was waaay too hot to the touch. so, i'm gonna try and send this back

good job thermalright you didn't forget the basics ----------- Update I just received the full copper revision of this model and yes it is infact noticeably heavier...I will defently be swapping out the all black one for this one and pairing it with the noctua slim 92mm fan from a nh-l9a and probebly artic MX 4 compound and doing some before and after testings on all the difreces

2) The video card's back is VERY close to interfering with the heat sink. It makes it, but there are only a couple millimeters (maybe 1/8th inch) separation between the two. The core v21 height is tall enough to handle this heat sink easily, even with two 140mm case fans connected to the top of the case. Thermal performance: I haven't run intensive cpu tasks or overclocking yet, but a 2-hour gaming session never sent the cpu temps above 45C

Probably has to do with the cooler being so close to the vented panels for fresh air. Of course if I set PBO to auto, the Fuma 2 could complete the Cinebench run at max 85C while the AXP90-X47 reaches 90C within 10 seconds.

The tower is high enough to clear medium height RAM, but too tall to use a 25mm thick fan on top in space restricted cases. Thus the tower is not suitable for top mount fan OR use with tall RAM. Just a little taller and the fan would fit underneath, just a little shorter and the fan would fit on top. Noctua chose to build this in the middle making it of no use at all

The mounting system leaves much to be desired though. The mounting back-plate is big, and the screw/nut/bolt combo to hold down the cooler sticks out pretty far on back of main-board while not inspiring confidence. I like this cooler but be prepared to fiddle with the mounting and know that it won't fit all space constrained systems (though I was able to get it into mine).
