Not that great, but small, can take a lot of power. Micca OoO - $99  u/joentell likes them. Skinny and tall. Perhaps not great speakers but easy to put places other speakers will not fit

 Most importantly to my particular situation, their footprint is as minimal as it gets (you can even place them horizontally!). But how is the actual audio?  Their sound is clear and expansive, with nice, warm mids, punchy and surprisingly deep bass (technically rated for 60hz, though I'm hearing/feeling decent bass response down to about 35hz), and clean highs (not too crispy/sparkly, but not muddy either). Overall, they lean a tiny bit towards the warm side of things, with a great, truly room-filling soundstage and *plenty* of detail (without any additional processing that certain all-in-one solutions unfortunately rely on).  Additional notes for BASSHEADS: these are not going to rattle your windows, but they provide WAY more bass than their size would suggest

 Let me be clear: even if I had more space for larger bookshelf speakers, I'd probably still go with these. They are that good!  Getting started, what were my other options? Well..

  I also didn't want to sacrifice audio quality for speaker size - there are plenty of mini-sized bluetooth speakers that can be paired and used as a 2.0 setup, but again, the quality is generally lacking, and often the price is double what I'd want to pay, considering this. They'd also limit what I could add to the setup later, as well as my connectivity options.  Lastly, I didn't want to spend $1000+ for a specialized micro setup - I know they exist, and my wallet fears them

  What's my setup? I've paired these with some decent 12g banana plugs ($30 - never overspend on cables!) and the S.M.S.L

These would also make some pretty nice and tiny surround speakers or atmos surrounds. Overall, for $100, these are a pretty good deal

These little speakers feel a touch smaller than their older cousins, the MB42x. They are definitely skinnier and a lot more desk friendly. In terms of sound, they have a nice, smooth top end, and a reasonable amount of bass for their size. The midrange feels recessed, quiet, reserved, etc

 But my MB42x pair sound so bad I still think something must be wrong with them. These don't have the scaldingly bright tweeters of the MB42x which is a welcome change.  I think to do much better at this price you'd need to go used, which is usually a far better value anyway but takes more time and effort to shop for. The step-up model RB42c is also nice, but slightly more than twice the size and twice the price

 These would also make some pretty nice and tiny surround speakers or atmos surrounds. Overall, for $100, these are a pretty good deal. Sure, you can spend less and still have something listenable or a lot more and have way better performance, but these are a nice entry in the small-but-good category.  Compared to the MB42x, these sound better overall, though the midrange is better on the MB42x

 Polk S55s get 4 stars from me. But you can do better for the same price with internet direct companies. Hope this helps.  Update on Mar 24, 2020: I reduced my rating to 3 stars after using it several months for the concerns I mentioned earlier

 The Sony center speaker did better job on wider range of vocals. Then one day, I realized when I was watching movies on a Blu-ray discs that Polk S30 sounded much much better including bass male voices.  In summary, if you use high quality audio source such as Blu-ray disc, you will enjoy S30. If you are streaming, save yourself money and go with Sony SSCS8 center

 The vocal accuracy of S30 sounds slightly better than S35. It is not a noticeable difference, particularly when it is blended with S50/60. Both center speakers do fantastic jobs with S50/60. S30 also has better sound stage than S35, and is less dependent on the listening positions
