Hands down one of the best performing center channels available in my personal opinion. I am no audiophile but I can tell you what I like/love and it's the KEF Q Series for me. I have a Q250C because the Q650C was too big. Paired with Q950s. I don’t have any regrets because it still sounds great.

The KEFs stood out for folk, acoustic, and older recordings. The Klipschs shined for pop, electronic, and jazz. I don’t know that I initially had a strong preference for general tv and movie uses. I prefer the looks of the KEFs (especially the walnut cabinets), and already had a Q250c on order.

I have the Q750's as my fronts and the Q250c as my center, mainly because the 650 wouldn't fit in my current setup (and I always try the cheaper option first). I also have 150's as my surrounds. I think you'd be fine with the 250. I love it.

The most important thing is to have the room set up symmetrically. Placing some thick absorbent foam on the wall behind the couch could be very beneficial (242 panels from GIK). From KEF I’d recommend getting a pair of Q150s and a Q650C center (if you have room—I have a Q250C that just fits inside my media console). Then you can buy a pair of Q350s when you’re ready, use them as L and R, and move the Q150s to surround positions.
