 Basically, you set that up first and then clip the tent underneath. So a lot of things going on here that make it extremely durable and reliable throughout your camping adventures. You've got two DS shaped doors here, but the special thing about this front door is that it's oversized so I've got it rolled back. Easy access in and out

The Limelight series of tents has been in Marmots line for a long time and they've made improvements along the way. So here we've got the Marmot Limelight two-person tent. This is an extremely roomy, livable backpacking tent that has all the features you're looking for, and it comes in at a relatively low weight, so you can certainly take it into the backcountry. It's a backpacking option, but this tent is gonna give all the comfort for two backpackers or campers

 Now, there are fly vents here. you've got a vent on the front and one on the back and you can close those off really easily from the inside. So if you do need to batten everything down and close it off, that's really easy, but that really cuts down on condensation in the tent. You also have two tabs sewn to the bottom of the rain fly on each side here and you can stake those out if you want to with a stake and a line, and that also brings a lot of ventilation up underneath of the rain Fly if you need to

 Their DAC press fit aluminum poles and you've got a two pole construction here. So this is a hubs pole. You've got two poles that cross over each other to give the structure to the tent and then you also have a brow pole here that goes across and that makes this side wall of the tent a lot more vertical, again giving you more livable space inside the tent. Other than that, you've got extremely breathable mesh over this whole canopy that really cuts down on condensation within the tent

Marmot Limelight 2P Backpacking Tent

 Fierce, intense and you just squeeze it all together in two spots and they take up a lot less smaller footprint that's much more easily to put down somewhere in the backpacking world then one of those giant plots that poor person has to be on. So I think that this tent is really for anybody who is a beginner to moderate backpacker, who likes going out there on the weekends really isn't concerned too much about being the most ultralight worst person in the world, but likes to have a decently lightweight tent that's going to stand up, be freestanding, and that is going to give them space to really enjoy their vacation. And I think that's a really important thing for most beginners to intermediate backpackers is we're doing this thing not just to crank out miles, but to really enjoy the trip that we're on. And I really think that the Marmot Limelight two-person tent accomplishes that goal extraordinarily well, and therefore, I'd recommend it for any of those types of people

 I love the fact that the tent has double doors. It's really easy to get out on whatever side that you are on and it gives you options because who really wants to climb over their partner that they're sleeping with in the tent? to like go pee in the middle of night, three in the morning? That's just rude. I also love the spacious vestibules. There's plenty of room for my pack, my trekking poles, my gear, camp chairs, enu's, anything else that I have with me for the trip, it's really nice

 You're more than willing to take it, it's just probably not for you. And again, this tent is really budget friendly. It's only 269 dollars and 270 dollars, so it's pretty affordable as far as tents as far as tents go. Marmot Limelight 2P Tent | Perfect for Beginner Backpackers

You need a lightweight shelter, but may want something that still has durable materials for car camping. The Marmot Limelight 2p or 3p would work well here. If you can splurge then the Tungsten UL would be better to cut even more weight. Sierra Designs Meteor Lite and the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL would also work well

 You can also hide this door in a little pocket that's inside of this tent. Now I've heard people love to have dogs inside this tent. No tent is gonna be perfect with dogs, but I hear this one has a really good floor inside where the dogs can't rip it up as easily. Okay, let's talk about the inside of the tent

I want bug protection and rain protection because I don't like bugs (f ticks) and sleeping out gives me the creeps sometimes, so not really into the tarp and bivy. It seems to me like the Zpacks Duplex (occasionally bring my wife or a friend) would be a good option, being 19oz and having bug and rain protection integrated (not a tarp or bivy system, so it's simpler i.e. one piece)

Gossamer The Two vs. Zpacks Duplex

 One of the biggest benefits to the Dynamo material is that it's waterproof. This tent is 100 waterproof. I've never had any sort of leaking. I've had no issues

 You don't have to worry about the coatings aging and having to be reapplied. There's very little here with this tint that's going to age and that's not the case with copycat versions of this tent. I know that I've said a lot in regards to this tent, so let me wrap this up. in the end: this is a very impressive tint

Everyone Copies This Tent For A Reason - Zpacks Duplex Ultralight Tent Review

 So I won't go into any more specs on it because I'm sure you can find a lot of information out there about it. Let's talk about my opinion of this tent after 3,000 miles on the trail and what I like about it and what I don't like about it. So first off, obviously what I love about the tent is how insanely lightweight and roomy it is. As far as I'm concerned, it is the only tent that is this big that has this much room and is that low in weight

ZPacks Duplex 3,000+ Mile Review

 However, the ONE thing that is bad about BOTH tents is the way the end tie outs are sewn and sealed. The tents BOTH leak at the tie out points. This is due to the way they are sealed. It seams as if the seam seal was applied FIRST and then the tie outs sewn into the fabric

UPADATED AGAIN: I have purchased both the 1 and 2 person tent. Seems like very well quality and lightweight. However, the ONE thing that is bad about BOTH tents is the way the end tie outs are sewn and sealed. The tents BOTH leak at the tie out points

 The tent leaked at both ends where the tie outs are sewn into the fabric. These points are seam sealed, so I do not know why or how it leaked at both points. The water on the floor of the tent was about the size of a quarter. I have since sprayed all of the fly seams and the tie out points with silicone treatment

Very lightweight.

 So we just/\s/want to lower that down and make sure you're/\s/ not getting rain splatter and wind coming/\s/into the tent so we'll just open the doors. We'll take our trekking poles which/\s/are set to around 120 centimeters now/\s/ Zpax recommends 122. But for a storm pitch you/\s/can come down to 110 or maybe even lower and/\s/ you can see that just brought us down a bunch. So/\s/now we'll just tighten this guy line a little bit/\s/ redo our doors, tighten our doors, you can/\s/see how much lower that even brought us/\s/ Now if we go ahead and do the same to the other/\s/side or we could technically even bring this lower/\s/ and we could bring yeah, if it was really storm and/\s/then we'd want to bring this in basically as tight/\s/ as you can for the doors

 Don't just stuff them door flaps in guy/\s/lines to the middle mosquito net tucked under. Now we like to float it in thirds first wind. a little more complicated when it's/\s/windy just tuck that back in there so we're folding thirds and/\s/then pull it into the middle, squish the air out again. make sure that/\s/everything is like tucked inside

How to Setup the Zpacks Duplex | + Tips & Tricks

 So for 2.3 ounces more weight and fifty dollars more in cost, is the extra six inches of floor space worth it? For the duplex cell, that's for you to decide for me since I've already bought the duplex cell, and I really loved the fact that I didn't have to stress over whether my feet were touching the wall and again, I didn't have my hood getting damp for me. Yes, because 20.8 ounces is still ridiculously light for a two-person tent, but if I was having to make that decision right now to go with the new duplex or the Duplex L, it would be pretty hard for me to make that decision and also just to make you aware

 First off, I love that this is a very lightweight two-person backpacking shelter. Finding a two-person shelter. that weighs significantly less than two pounds I think is a win if weight is important to you. The Duplex Cell is what I would say is the second most simple two-person tent up, the first being the duplex
