I have also gotten a chance to compare the Logitech G27 steering wheel for pc with the TX, and there are a few things I feel I need to say. I did purchase the Ferrari GTE F458 Wheel for one of the wheels, but for the sake of this review, I will not compare it against the G27. TX vs. G27 The TX has much better feel in the force feedback than the G27 hands down

However, to set thing thing up is a pain. There are 3 cables: one for the pedals, one for the USB connection, and one for the power to the wheel. It takes some creativity to get the cables to go places without causing a tripping hazard for those not playing, and so that your cables aren't intervening upon your pedals, either. Plus, you have to find a table of some kind to hook the wheel up to

The pedals are plastic but take reasonable punishment (metal pedals would be a lot pricier and heavier.) The only thing that is underwhelming is getting your wheel working and fine tuned, first when you install the wheel and later when you want to use a new game. You should be able to plug in the wheel when you buy it and from then all games should recognize it and use it as the default input with no further tweaking. That was far from my experience: - On the PC there was software to install initially, which you need to download for the latest version

My setup has the TH8A shifter, T3PA pedals, and the Ferrari GTE wheel. All toghether it comes to be a little on the expensive side, but you can minimize cost by looking around for deals. All things considered this setup ultimatelly comes up to be slightly lower, or at worst at the same price as the competition from what I've seen. Also if you are a racing fan, it is a small price to pay for the experience, as it is safer and way cheaper than real racing

The compatibility is something that needs to be brought up and clarified. The wheel will work with some racing games that let you pick your control settings, or sometimes it will be set right from the start. However, if you are planning to buy this wheel to play with all your car driving games (For example: Gran Theft Auto 4, Motorstorm, Wipeout HD, and others) then you might want to reconsider. From what I have found, this wheel will only reach it's potential in GT:Prologue and GT5 (when it arrives)

So I'm thinking, hm, re-updating the firmware worked once, let's try again. Plugging the wheel into my laptop, I got the same response: It calibrates, then goes dead. I update the already-updated firmware. That didn't help

In all of these games, I have had to turn the difficulty up because having this wheel makes me such a better driver. There was a learning curve to overcome, but after that, I have been tearing up the road as compared to trying to use an X360 controller. I sometimes get giddy playing Dirt 2/3 because the FFB is so well-executed that it makes you feel the grip and the crazy sliding in visceral way. I love it
